Freddie Mercury's Isolated Vocals From We Are The Champions

nanrod says...

September 1982, Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver. One of my favourite concerts, awesome showman. Freddie threw his mic stick into the audience at the end and beaned some poor girl.

Never quit; never surrender...

*promote the never surrender mentality of rally racing.
You can only be sure you've lost if you've quit.
The first off road race I ever saw was a short course race in the LA Coliseum, and the front runner completely lost a front wheel with 2 laps to go...and continued on to win the race. I was hooked from then on.

How can you be so sure without knowing the actual cups' measurements?

In any case, the cups are reported as 16 oz. and 20 oz., and they do fill the 16 oz. cup to the brim then transfer it to the 20 oz. cup and that is the amount of void space remaining at the top of the cup. Regardless of what it looks like, the difference must be 4 oz.

What are you suggesting as an alternative explanation? Is it magic?

Seems this is probably common practice. See also: *related=http://videosift.com/video/Ballpark-Beer-Scam-Oakland-Coliseum-Sham

If you calculate the volume of a circular truncated cone (http://www.aqua-calc.com/calculate/volume-truncated-cone), it shows that at low angles the resulting volume doesn't increase so fast as to justify this explanation.

They should definitely fill both glasses to the rim and weigh them.

Why conical glasses are big frauds

i understand the point you are making, but the general public typically does not. I'm not trying to short you or screw you over. I'm just doing my job properly. It is just too common we have glasses that make me and other bartenders look like we are skimping the customer. The goal is to make a drink visually appealing to the guest -- regardless of glass. All of us have to move the glass with the fluid in it.
hell, push-up bras are more frauds then our glassware.

Quit sending me private messages from your sockpuppet accounts, choggie.

How about sticking with this?
I am a new user who knows the member formally known as choggie, the same who created this account on his behalf upon request.
He described a scenario in which the actions or inclinations of a few douchebags on the site who for lack of administrative mandate or simply users with an opinion who otherwise tend to remain voiceless by withholding judgment for sake of spectacle or novelty, are suffered.
At first glance, and a second, I would tend to agree that some are not commandeering the cart for the sake of the passengers. Why then, would I be addressing you?

No problem with it, consider the matter "taken up" with dag or lucky.

I know you weren't trying that hard this time, choggie. Chic's working out pretty well for you, so why not stick with that.

And as usual, if anyone has a problem with this, take it up with @dag or @lucky760.

Frank Zappa - Greatest Drum Solo

ulysses1904 says...

Good stuff. Usually drum solos are the very definition of boring but some of them stand out. The best one I ever heard was David Bowie's drummer Dennis Davis, on his 1976 Station to Station tour. They played at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island and the show was broadcast on the King Biscuit Flour Hour. Dennis has a drum solo during "Panic in Detroit" and I have never heard any musician so connected with his instrument as Dennis is on that solo.

I sailed along the whole island once after visiting it in 2005. It was truly incredible. Remember when Maximus and all of the other gladiators get out of the cart in Gladiator and see the coliseum? It was like that.

"Heroes" - David Bowie

ulysses1904 says...

I got to see Bowie at Madison Square Garden in 1976, on the Station to Station tour. I still listen to the bootleg from the Nassau Coliseum Long Island show from that tour, his band was so tight, they were amazing. Then came "Low" which along with "Station to Station" was Bowie at his peak for me. A lot of the "Heroes" album was pretty disposable but the title track really does stand out. I stopped listening to him after "Lodger".

"The Amazing racist" - Illegal immigrant trap

choggie says...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Wetback

President Eisenhower saw the shitstorm coming...Let the borders remain relatively unmanned, fast forward 50 years and the exponential increase in illegals dilutes the demographics, and criminals as well as hard-working folks who want stuff (that has been instilled in us for a long time, preoccupation with money, leisure, entertainment, hell after working all week you need an out, Romans had their coliseum to keep them preoccupied, modern man has been engineered around several money-sucking diversions as well)

Once the problem has been created through neglect and encouragement in this case, the solution is also provided by the puppet leaders-and diversions such as racism, are icing on the cake-Keep the monkeys distracted with bullshit, and watch the place turn into something they have to "control"

Forest for the trees, baby...Y'all screaming racist, need to warn the messicans.....Oh, guy in the vid is a moron, has very limited survival instincts....
