It is all quite true (I watched this on the Team Coco Site, not region blocked there).

People are a bit too damn in awe of the man. He lead a company into creating pretty amazing products, he lead a company into using some highly fricken annoying and misleading but amazingly effective marketing.

He lead the company to do those things. He didn't make those things himself, but charting the company's success/failure/success while under his leadership, not under it, then under it again, shows how much of a HUGE impact he alone made.

So, yeah, as much as I don't much like iProducts, and I think that Jobs was a supreme dick to his co-workers, and seemed to never give to charity, like, ever.... he was pretty fucking good at his job.

I love Coco...just watched this last night and absolutely loved it. It was a rare look into Conanas personality and even though you could see it was ripping him apart...I don't think I'd take it as well as he did. I'd sulk for months...he went out and PUT ON A HELL OF A SHOW! Ran himself ragged for it all.

This Doc made me respect Conan EVEN More.

I remember watching some History Channel thing on the history of Coco-Cola. When they got to the part about the "new improved" Coke 2 recipe and how sales dove as a result, the CEO was explaining that a woman called in and her simple complaint was: "Why... are you taking away my Coco-Cola?" and after some explanation he asked "Well when's the last time you had a coke?" Her reply? "40 years."

He went on to explain that it was at that moment he understood what they were doing wrong. Their brand and that same formula had been a part of people's lives for so long that to change it was to take away those happy moments with their product.

So George, why are you taking away my Star Wars? The one I sat around and watched when I was five, the one my mom recorded off of Cinemax with our VCR is being destroyed because you're being a revisionist asshole.
