Las Vegas Police Beating Caught On Tape

I'm sorry you're annoyed by the amount of police brutality videos on the sift. Police brutality can be so annoying and inconvenient.
>> ^Sarzy:
Wow, a police brutality video! I've never seen one of those on the sift!

Well, aren't these videos getting a bit redundant at this point? We all get it. Cops can be dicks. Cops abuse their power. Is there anyone left on the sift who doesn't get that at this point?

I think this is what is known as preaching to the choir.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

I'm pretty sure she is the creep in this one - could be wrong. As overplayed as this song is, a good cover still gives me a little chill.

Not sure what a topless smoking hipster girl has to do with this song. Perhaps she is the unattainable object of Thom Yorke's desire?
This beautiful arrangement is sung by the Swedish Vega Choir. Vid here:

LOTR with a new Theme Song

This reminds me so much of the cheesy action movies of the 80's and early 90's. I can't help thinking what might have happened if they'd used the classical sound with a choir slowly singing in latin rather than synth-pop. They might suddenly become more serious and epic!

Treatise on Morality

I'm not a fan of this snide style. That's to say, if he treated me like this, it would take away from my psychological well-being, I wouldn't be happy, and I wouldn't want to be around him or wish success for him, to use his definitions. It was possible for him to make the exact same arguments without being mean. In fact, doing it that way would have been more likely to have impact on people who are not in the allegorical choir, which is to say, those more likely to be in the non-allegorical choir.

But I really like the path he takes on definitions, so upvote for content. Hadn't heard it thought through that far.

i know i'm way too cynical, but how is a videogame (isn't it?) about books going the help kids read

I would not class it as a video game , its just a more modern version of books with popup pages and things to do in them. the activities in it are more "toys" than "games" not that that's a negative thing.

this would help kids to read by making reading which on the face of it is incredibly dull more interesting , you have to remember that reading is utter shit and a chore until it comes naturally , what is entertaining about reading is the content within the writing not the process of converting letters and words into meaning.

Toys/books like this can be enjoyable in themselves and can also help people get through the initial part of reading thats not fun getting people to the a level of comprehension that will then allow them to enjoy deeper stories or novels faster.

Theeming this thing around books allso helps promote the idea that books are fun and not something asoceated with the choir of traditional shitty school learning , father encouraging children to pick up more complex books later on.

People also learn tasks allot faster if they are enjoying themselves whilst they learn.
