Ed Sheeran Sings Heavy Metal

In a video where they called Limp Bizkit metal, you're complaining about Cannibal Corpse?

Dude, most of those songs are NOT heavy metal. Calling Cannibal Corpse heavy metal is like calling 2Girls1Cup a late night movie.

Trivia Fun Fact: 'Where The Slime Lives' is actually a ringtone on my cell. Made me smile.

I started off with MJ and the Beach Boys at age 5. Then around 2nd grade it was Vanilla Ice & MC Hammer. Then 3rd it became Ice-T, NWA, Ice Cube. 4th grade it became Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse. 5th Grade it was Kyuss, Jesus Lizard, Melvins, Nirvana. 6th grade it was local punk bands, Lookout! Records, Minor Threat, Rancid... 7th grade I delved into the heart of Legendary DIY underground punk music. Ebullition records (Econochrist, Born against, Downcast, Spitboy, Iconoclast, Los Crudos), , Gravity Records (Heroin, Angel Hair, Antioch Arrow, Clikatat Ikatowi), Dischord (Fugazi, Hoover, Rites of Spring). The list goes on and on. The next ten years were all about underground hardcore/punk/noise/power-violence/sludge/grind/doom.

Then I moved to San Francisco. LOL. I'm an Aquarius. AQUARIUS RECORDS!!!!! I still listen to some of that stuff from time to time. A LOT of it was way ahead of it's time. These kids these days can't hold a candle to genuine, innovative, raw DIY music.

OPERATION: STREET PREACHERS

Anyone else notice these pricks popping up all over the place, in Australia? Buying some fruit and veg this morning and a preacher was blasting christian music louder than I play cannibal corpse or deicide. At least with Jehovah's Witnesess, you can say no thanks and close the door.

My parents forced me to go to church until I was 18, luckily it was a really liberal Lutheran church. I remember playing Cannibal Corpse for my peers when we were in 6th grade at some christian camp, that was fun. Although, our camp counselor who was an older punk rocker saw my MRR and got an unhealthy little boy crush on me that was pretty frightening.

I remember scaring a lot of kids, smoking lots of cigarettes and smoking lots of pot and then sitting up on the balcony in the back of the Church so all of us kids could just talk and be stoned while ignoring the sermon. Good times! What I would rather have been doing was waking up late Sunday and playing Quake - but nah, instead we were just getting stoned whilst being bored & tired. Oh! but there were doughnuts at the end....

German Idol Death Metal Audition

This post will help you distinguish between good death metal and bad death metal. And before I go off making fun of any bands, I'll stop myself because I could post all day. And It wouldn't be fair. Once you get past the vocals of a band even as terrible as cannibal corpse, you can see the talent and sheer brutality that goes into even their music.

Bad Death Metal:

Anything with guttural vocals that lacks true talent and is lyrically and substantively rediculous and on the surface of things.

Good Death Metal:

You'll find here:

A list of well known Death Metal bands that range from being old and new, technical to somewhat melodic, although I avoided any Melodic Death Metal. I listen to all sorts of Good Metal, and am constantly finding new bands from all over the globe that play under it's diverse and well followed umbrella of styles, people, and sounds.
