Interestingly, this plane was still in operation at Air Canada until 2008, and I flew on it many times (there was a little brass plaque near the front entrance). Also interesting, Air Canada has had flat screens on the back of all of their seats since the 90s and of the many shows available for viewing was the show Mayday. My son is a 17 year old jazz player (Trombone) and he's really turned me on to Jazz. More than the casual listener I was before.
He's heading to University of Toronto in a few months with a focus on Jazz. (I need to fly him there for auditions entrance in February).
He performs 2-3 times a week with various combos in town so I get to see a lot of jazz lately.

So, after months of issues including plastics both leaving the capture area through the entrance and just going directly under the "curtain", the device has broken catastrophically and was returned to port for repairs today, barely 3 months after deployment. Disappointing.

I'm glad they're trying something, but in reality even working perfectly this device could only clean the ocean surface like a single parking lot vacuum truck could clean and decontaminate the entire mid West. We would need hundreds of thousands of these working 24/7 to make a significant difference, and that would undoubtedly cause new insurmountable problems.

Besides, enormous amounts of plastics have degraded enough that they no longer float at the surface. These devices could never harvest that plastic, and that's the plastic entering the food web at the base, contaminating everything from phytoplankton up.

You and me both. Years ago I had a job at White Sands Missile range, where the main entrance road was named after PFC Marvin R. Owen, an MP who had been on duty during one of those monsoon rains. Some guy reporting for duty from New Jersey, or some such station, didn't want to be late. So he drove into the running arroyo that separated him from post HQ. He had his wife and two kids with him as I recall, and they all started floating downstream. PFC Owen drove his pickup into the arroyo in an attempt to stop the car, but they were all swept away.

I love these videos, the ones that you think you might not watch the whole thing, or you might skip ahead, but it is so entrancing that when its over, you are surprised that it was 10 minutes long.

True. It's the diamond cartels (actually it may just be one now) that control how many diamonds are allowed onto the market each year, which is the only thing that keeps them valuable. There are diamond mines in the world that actually produced so many uncut diamonds, that they piled them up on the floor of the mine and then sealed the entrances with concrete, putting local miners out of work.

First, I think people like T-pain, Kanye, and Drake are most of what is wrong with the music industry today. So they definitely are NOT my favorite artists. Honestly, I refuse to call them artists. His point is exactly the point. Without Auto-tune, we wouldn't have these songs because they are utter garbage. It's Auto-tune that is the star, not the personas "behind the curtain."

And also, there is no fast track to learning skills. Yes, as he states, "speeding up their workflow" is just that. Workflow. This means it helps them produce tons of this crap without ever improving their skills, because they don't need to. They just need to rapidly produce song after song, while waiting for the one that is the most catchy to stick in people's minds. Then the conglomerate of industry leaches will pick it it up in hopes they all generate a few bucks from it. Meaning, they get radio play for producing crap song, after crap song.

Sorry to rant here, but pick up an instrument, learn to play. Learn how to sing, learn to hit a note. Entrance us with your skills and abilities. Seduce us with abilities that impress us. Gain our respect with your talents.

The guy in this video is just as fake as a Bieber look-alike, and while he starts to point out that they are3 cheating, he ends by enabling them showing us how great Lois's recorded voice sounds like once Frankensteined. This is not okay.

DAM REBUILT
6 weeks after this Collapse the Beavers rebuilt the dam to 4 ft high. The pond is now two thirds full and their house entrance should be accessible for the winter. By next summer I expect it to be totally rebuilt. -yt
