Dirty Pictures FULL- Alexander Shulgin Documentary
Besides for the cheesy Burning Man footage this is a really great doc on psychs. A lot of docs keep true with mystical experience but the way Ann describes it is in reality the way it is and a reason they are useful experiences not to be taken lightly. The whole part where she says one must face he/her inner shadows/monster and learn to accept them by working through them. A good psychedelic experience can be like a birth, a death - the happiest or the most distraught.
The first few times I took a psychedelic it was a little nerve-wracking because I wasn't sure what I might see in myself. I think many people are afraid of taking psychedelics because of that unknown factor. For me the tranquility in what I would call ego-death is what made me embrace some form of spirituality. Before taking psychedelics - "spirituality" was a four letter word that made me cringe.
The amount of ignorance and deception out there about psychs is staggering.

Fantastic, I was just saying to a friend how much I loved Dr Seuss, it's nice to see his writing being used in such an inspirational way.

... so many people, while they are cursing the hippies and typing on their Macbooks, should really get a clue...
Dude. ANYone could see gwiz665 was joking.
cool i guess i missed the joke. even here in Reno, 2 hours away from the playa, the perception that it is just a bunch of hippies in the desert still dominates. Even fox news uses burning man references as a way to encourage a negative perception of OWS people.
but don't let me missing the joke detract from the rest of the post.
i'm not sure any of us realize the extent of the importance of encouraging creative thinking and cooperation.
Geez you hippies are touchy.
Oh! The Places You'll Go at Burning Man!
Just awesome vid. Any railing against 'those damn hippies' is killed by the wondrous words of the Doctor.
It's easy to think that people there are pretentious wankers, but then you look at the structures, the sculpture, the engineering, the art. And you have to go... 'woah'. They made those things, they created, and for a brief time they get to exist in a little world of creativity and sharing.
So yeah. Great stuff.
I noted that there is an Australian Burning Man now (Burning Seed), but it looks like it gets held in bushland. I think the playa of Burning Man, the huge, flat surface is a huge part of what makes it. So I'm not sure why they don't hold the Australian ones in one of our deserts.

Burning Man: I don't choose to go there.

Some really beautiful people in this video.
I keep being surprised at how many weird and regular everyday people resemble models elsewhere outside LA. In LA everyone thinks they're a model or an actor and they're trying to be one professionally. I meet people in Seattle just as beautiful and they're interested in other things completely.
Oh! The Places You'll Go at Burning Man!
what amazes me is how many techies, artists and engineers - creative minds from all over the world (and especially silicon valley, sf, portland) converge on this place. the ideas that flow from this event are incredible, life changing, and benefit humanity.
so many people, while they are cursing the hippies and typing on their Macbooks, should really get a clue.
the only thing burning man org really does is create a place for creative expression. creative possibilities. then it just goes. and goes and goes.
imho, more countries should do this.
we are of course, dangerous to the establishment.
