Uh oh…Blanch is failing miserably, again, repeatedly lambasted by the judge for misleading questioning, including in front of the jury after multiple side bars, told to stop and “fix” his line of questioning or the prosecution will be allowed to redress every question he asks, correcting the record from the misrepresentations the defense presented….showing the jury incontrovertibly that the defense is misleading them intentionally to give a false impression in order to escape being rightly found guilty of every charge and that is their only defense because he is guilty.
He failed to “fix” his misleading questioning, which went nowhere because the prosecution’s objections were sustained and the misleading questions went mostly unanswered.
All this twisting of facts and misrepresentation are happening and being corrected in front of the jury, juries do not like being misled. Juries do not like having their intelligence questioned and insulted. Good job Blanch.
Enjoy.

Once again,
Trump's legal team told a judge in Colorado last week that he had no "duty" as president to actually honor the Constitution. (Not sure what he thinks “preserve and protect” means).
This argument is his defense in Colorado. Not that he didn’t engage in an insurrection, but that the 14th amendment doesn’t apply to the president.

I guess it’s game on for Biden who cannot be removed by any means now, and has carte Blanche to try a coup or just end elections outright because the constitution doesn’t regulate what the president does. 🤦‍♂️

This is you guy…this you pick. 😂

BTW- these facts are from every single reputable news outlet, so not righty media, and are in fact what he filed in Colorado court as his defense to being removed from the ballot for participating in an insurrection.

https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-tells-court-had-no-220216709.html

He also claimed absolute immunity for fomenting a coup because stealing the election was part of his official duty as the ex-president… https://newrepublic.com/article/176052/trump-jan-6-absolute-immunity-argument-even-worse-looks

PS- I’m still waiting, now 7 years later, for what the charges against Clinton are going to be and when will they be filed. You insisted repeatedly after the election when Republicans held the house, senate, Supreme Court, and presidency that charges and prison would come amazingly soon….still waiting. Still no answer 7 years later. It couldn’t be that you just spout wishful nonsense and insist it’s reality, could it? 😂

No Bob. 10 that AREN'T RINOs, or at least 10 that this time put country over party leaders, a long time Republican slogan before Trump. Remember complaining Obama was a cult of personality? You never hear right wingers bring that up lately....wonder why?

This impeachment just shows how fucked in the head Republicans are that they don't think calling for them and their colleges to be murdered and a violent but failed coup warrants repercussion if Trump does it. Turnabout is fair play, Biden gets 400000 dead Americans and two months of fomenting insurrection at the expense of democracy before you get to say "boo". He and his family also have carte Blanche to make as many millions as they can during his tenure, including but not limited to no bid, no show contracts, preferential government loans and bailouts, and gifts from foreign powers. Thanks Trump.

Do You Regret All Your Lying?

newtboy says...

More like glass of weak tea calling the kettle black, buddy. Democrats and the mainstream media at it's worst aren't 1/10 the liars their far right extremist counterparts are.

Whataboutism based on pure lies and exaggerations by a repeatedly convicted con man and liar, the man you said has carte Blanche to lie whenever he pleases because only a moron tells the truth if it might hurt him, especially under oath.
🤦‍♂️

Even if that were true, which it is absolutely not, the media is comprised of tens of millions of people worldwide.
Giving you the benefit of pretending to accept your lie, that makes Trump, all on his little lonesome, as big a liar as tens of millions of people you call monstrous liars combined.

Still unbelievably full of shit and incapable of honesty.

Lol....nationalreview, as a source?!? Too funny, Bob. About as biased as they come. If they applied the same standards to any trump speech it wouldn't say he lies repeatedly, it would say he lies constantly when he's even coherent....but they don't apply the same standards, do they. I bet they repeat Trump's new brother lie, another blatantly false and undeniably racist attack on a politician of color. He can't help himself. What a turd you gleefully follow into the sewer.

Trump Declares Himself Above the Constitution: A Closer Look

newtboy says...

Sets a bad presidential precedent. Trump is a bad president without anyone's help. ;-)

The Democrats need to accept that and give Warren carte blanche to do anything at all, including a blanket repeal of all Treasonous Trump's legislation and agreements, and thumb their noses at Republican whining.

I say Democrats should, for one term only, use every trick, ploy, and scheme the Republicans have used for Trump to get us back on track, closing every loophole and making it a crime to support obstruction or "refusal to cooperate" as a public official after 3 years and 9 months.
Ignore them. Dismiss them. If they suggest any legislation, crush it, call it unAmerican and stupid, and laugh at their inability to do anything about it. Defund all their pet projects and corporate welfare programs and implement universal health care with the money saved.
Turnabout is fair play. I'm sick to death of Democrats turning the other cheek in the name of civility with an uncivil adversary.

Unfortunately Republicans of today are not what they once were, they are all just a bunch of hacks that want to cling to power at all costs damn the consequences....

GOP Says Trump Was Joking as Damning Ukraine Texts Emerge

newtboy says...

The next Democratic president is going to have carte Blanche to do anything he or she wants, laws be damned, and Republican complaints are all nothing but country hating sour grapes, to be ignored and ridiculed.
Republican subpoenas....toilet paper. Republican criminal charges....witch hunts. Republican legislation....compost. Republican complaints....sweet sweet music. Turnabout is fair play, and there's a big turnabout a'coming.

Sudafed pill popping Donny (see his taco bowl photo from May 5, 2016 and notice the open drawer that's chock full of European formula Sudafed) now has 20% of Republicans ready to impeach, that number growing steadily. An anonymous/sealed vote in the Senate today would see him expelled, so McConnell won't consider it.

Not sure how they think baiting and lying to the press isn't baiting and lying to the public....or how it doesn't make him a consummate liar in their eyes.

The Mueller Investigation Is Not A Witch Hunt

newtboy says...

Again, you are 100% wrong.
You really need to stop taking legal advice from lying criminal know nothing's trying to weasel out of being caught breaking laws. Of course Trump tells you it isn't a crime. Try looking at the law.

Trump's assertion that using your own money for campaign related expenses without reporting it is legal is 100% wrong. That's an illegal contribution.
Having your lawyer do it for you and then lie to hide it, that compounds the crime, it doesn't erase it. This is why Cohen's recordings are evidence and not privileged. There's no attorney client privilege if you and the lawyer were conspiring to commit crimes, which they clearly and admittedly were.
Cohen admitted to intentionally violating portions of the following federal election laws on behalf of Donald Trump:
52 U.S. Code § 30116 – Limitations on contributions and expenditures
52 U.S. Code § 30118 – Contributions or expenditures by national banks, corporations, or labor organizations

Just duh, Bob. You need to stop talking about stuff you learned from Trump, it's 100% bullshit lies and makes you look incredibly stupid and naive when you repeat their dumb, easily debunked lies.

When he's impeached, I only wish part of the law said idiots who support him forfeit their vote next election and must pass a civics test to have them reinstated. Most of you would never vote again. You have absolutely abdicated your right to complain about the next democratic president. Anything and everything they do that you find criminal or unseemly will be excused/dismissed with one word....Trump. Be ready for a HUGE jump to the left in 2 years, the next president has carte blanche to do whatever they please, thanks to your ilk excusing and turning a blind eye to Trump's crimes.

It makes me wonder how you'll excuse his repeating violations of the constitution like the emoluments clause that he's violated daily since the day he took office. Clearly the constitution means less than Trump to your kind.

noam chomsky denounces democrats russian hysteria

newtboy says...

It's not a joke. It's hypocritical, but quite serious. Because they focus on the fact that he appears to be under Putin's control does not mean they ignore his myriad of other faults....proven by the near weekly protests against his policies.

Jesus Christ...they aren't upset the he wants to normalize relations with Russia, they're upset that he seems to be a Russian agent, as do many of his cabinet, and they fear he'll do things to benefit them instead of actually working for America.
People are upset at his people illegally, treasonously 'talking' to the Russians about removing sanctions and other subversions of established federal policy and law before they were in power and bold faced lying about it under oath and publicly uncountable times, not for having normal or legal diplomatic discussions. They won't accept it when the next president takes control on Nov. 8 and reverses their policies before taking office.

The emails themselves had no new information, it was the implication that they did, and that the investigation was still actively under way that hurt her. The media absolutely covered that, what are they talking about?

It's not about escalating tensions between the U.S. and Russia, it's about abandoning normal policy and giving Russia what they want, carte Blanche to expand and reform the USSR.

I guess they forgot that Russia is building it's military on it's borders and expanding it's territories into our allies countries, and that's why NATO moved, to protect our allies, not to provoke poor little innocent Russia. Just fucking duh.

They aren't necessarily shills for Russia, they are, however, being shills for Trump, and Chomsky now seems to be moving in that direction based on this video. This is the most idiotic thing I've heard from Chomsky, as it completely ignores reality and reason to lambast people for being worried their president may be (as all evidence indicates he is) an agent for one of our worst enemies.

Sorry Chomsky, big fail.

Woman Refuses to Leave Uber Car

newtboy says...

Well, yes and no. If you're being dumped somewhere that there's no landmarks and/or no cell service, you might have an argument that getting out puts you in danger, but that's certainly not the case here. I would argue that, if you aren't being left somewhere dangerous, you have no right to remain in the car. Period. Being inconvenienced does not give one carte blanche to ignore the law or common sense. This IS the same as remaining in a theater in that she is continuing to use the service (actually worse, because he's precluded from serving other customers until she's gone) but she's not paying for it....but yes, there are also differences.

I think that's the risk you take when you decide to go with Uber. You pay less, you get a certain type of service, but you have less recourse if it goes bad. That's a choice, you don't get to ignore that if it doesn't go your way. She made that decision, she's stuck with it. She could have called a cab, she didn't.

I don't disagree that he reacted poorly.

He is NOT a taxi driver, he's an Uber driver. I disagree, Uber does not =taxi. Taxi=taxi...Limo=>taxi ...Uber =

ChaosEngine said:

There's a difference between "commandeering a place of business" and expecting a taxi driver to take you to the correct location. It's a pretty unique situation in that you are almost always in an unfamiliar place without transport. It's not the same as staying in a movie theatre.

If I was in a cab and they didn't drop me to where I had asked to go, I would probably get out and refuse to pay. But in an Uber, you've already paid, so staying in the cab is pretty much your only recourse, otherwise, you get dropped on the side of the road somewhere and you can, what... downvote them? Yeah, that's really helpful when you're stuck trying to get somewhere without transport.

That's as a general principle.

In this specific case, I already agreed that she was being an entitled arsehole. She was at the hospital, she should have just gotten out.

My issue isn't that he asked her to leave, my issue is the way he handled it.

You simply don't act like that. Period.

He was borderline violent. That fact that he DIDN'T resort to violence is the only thing keeping him from an assault charge. It's not something to be commended, it's basic civilised behaviour.

He's a taxi driver (Uber = taxi and @Drachen_Jager is right, they should be held to the same standards). His job is dealing with the public. If he can't deal with one annoying person without losing his shit, then maybe this job isn't for him.

Answer this Why is Baltimore such a shit hole in treating inner city poor folks like dogs?

Like many failed cities, Detroit comes to mind, and every city besieged recently by rioting, Democrats and their union pals have had carte blanche to inflict their ideas and policies on Baltimore since 1967, the last time there was a Republican Mayor. In 2012, after four years of his own failed policies, President Obama won a whopping 87.4% of the Baltimore city vote. Democrats run the city of Baltimore, the unions, the schools, and, yes, the police force. Since 1969, there have only been only been two Republican governors of the State of Maryland. Elijah Cummings has represented Baltimore in the U.S. Congress for more than thirty years.”
..."the Democrat-infested mainstream media is treating the Democrat like a local folk hero, not the obvious and glaring failure he really is. Every single member of the Baltimore city council is a Democrat. Liberalism and all the toxic government dependence and cronyism and union corruption and failed schools that comes along with it, has run amok in Baltimore for a half-century, and that is Baltimore’s problem. It is the free people of Baltimore who elect and then re-elect those who institute policies that have so spectacularly failed that once-great city. It is the free people of Baltimore who elected Mayor “Space-to-Destroy”. From a recent Allen West post

http://allenbwest.com/2015/04/the-dirty-little-secret-no-one-wants-to-admit-about-baltimore/

Not to mention the $1.5Million /year federal dollars for education. Total 18.3 Million from 2001 and today..

plus the 1.8 Billion from Obama's Stimulus.

Peace/ love sharing and caring. Yep a Democrat Utopia.

Stop and Seize

newtboy says...

No, this is police theft under the guise of 'regulation'. Actual regulation would regulate when they can seize, not give carte blanche to steal any money they find and require the victim to 'prove' their money isn't suspect. That's a lack of regulation along with immunity granted for institutional theft.
Once again, (reiterating because of your repeatedly and recently displayed lack of comprehension) cops are at their discretion to seize, and they repeatedly and constantly abuse that power, meaning they need to be regulated. Government regulation can mean regulating the government...but that's a concept that escapes you.
Cops (and their 'conservative' lawyer buddies) wrote this law and lobbied to have it instated....proof that sometimes cops do make the law AND abuse it. Prison guards have the largest, best funded, biggest lobbying union in the US, they're cops, and they've written many laws.

lantern53 said:

This is regulation, in case you didn't notice that.
