The Looters

newtboy says...

Liar. That was Ben Carson's order. That one piece of furniture cost over 6 times the budget allowed by law to refurnish his office, and wasn't his only purchase.

Now explain this one too....
https://www.politico.com/story/2019/09/06/air-force-trump-scottish-retreat-1484337

$11 million wasted in extra fuel alone paid to foreign fuel companies instead of using American airports and American fuels purely to give Trump $7.5 million per year and save his failing club....that's $18.5 million per year for this one scheme to personally enrich himself on taxpayer money, laws against EXACTLY that be damned.

When are you going to stop making yourself look like a worthless piece of shit and stop making up easily debunked lies to try to defend Trump? It's within your control, but you insist on insulting yourself by being not just a constant liar, but a really really bad one. You're better than this, aren't you?

Maher forgot to list Ben Carson as one of the deplorable Cabinet nominations. The man was honest at first -- said he didn't have the experience or the skills to do the job. Then SOMETHING happened to change his mind. Gives me the dry heaves, this does.

Aftermath November 2016

enoch says...

@Stormsinger

i can agree with the intent of your comment but i think it ignores a far greater, and possibly more dangerous facet of this current election cycle.

look,
when the DNC began it's political play to nudge sanders out,and was changing the rules of application to keep laurence lessig off the ballot.it became obvious (to me anyways) that clinton was tagged for the run,and the DNC was attempting to steal sanders thunder, which was shockingly impressive, and redirect it to boost clinton.

but the DNC had failed to successfully execute this plan because they didn't understand the true nature of those sanders supporters.so their plan backfired.

the RNC did almost the EXACT same thing with trump.they hated the man, wanted nothing to do with him,but they saw how powerful his campaign was picking up steam and they attempted to play the long con.for a year they allowed trump to do and say whatever he wanted, with little rebuttal or regard.they watched as trump got bigger, and bolder, and more brash.they watched his numbers climb consistently..and they waited.and after a year, they attempted to step in and steal trumps thunder by offering a more "reasonable" candidate.

ok ok...enough with the trump.
you want cruz?...nope.
how about ben carson? he is a sweet guy and BLACK....nope.
marco rubio?he is spanish with immigrant parents...nope
john kasich?...nope

because the RNC didn't get it either.they too, attempted to steal trumps thunder and their plan backfired.

liberals didnt get it.
conservatives didnt get it.
corporate media didnt get it.
political pundits, who get PAID to get it,didnt get it.
pollsters didnt get it.
suzy mcprettyface who reads the teleprompter didnt get it.

but the americans who lived in those dead midwestern towns got it.they may not understand neoliberalism, but they could see the effects by the boarded up stores, closed banks and the only jobs to have were the night shift at the one fast food joint left in the entire town.

these are the very same people who may not fully comprehend what the bank bailouts meant,or how austerity affected them, but they understood that the biggest industry in their town was no longer coal,or steel,or fishing but production of meth.they saw small shops close and crumble under the weight of a walmart superstore, and chains of pill mills.

they watched as construction jobs dried up,and private prisons expanded.there are some towns in texas and florida that literally survive on the incarceration of other americans.so they may not have fully understood that the "war on drugs" is actually a war on people, but they certainly could see the after-effects.

and these people were being told..everyday..that the economy was doing great.
that unemployment was at an all time low.
that the american dream was still attainable.
and at the very same time they were also being told that if you were on food stamps you were a loser, and a leech.
that if you lost your home it was YOUR fault.
that if you couldnt find a job you were lazy.
and if you DID happen to find a job,but it paid minimum, well then you should have gone to college or made better choices.

and since when did it become a virtue to exploit the hopeless and the desperate? to take advantage of someones misfortune and pay them pennies to do a job,but god forbid someone actually demands what they feel they are worth, because then you are accused of being a rip off artist!

when did THIS tactic become and american ideology?

and that really is the core nugget of this tale.
the ideology of america.
the amercian dream.
it was dead, and those people finally got it.
and there is NOTHING more fanatical or zealous than a defeated idealist.

so you can judge them for voting trump, but i think we should also understand WHY they voted for trump.

176 Shocking Things Donald Trump Has Done This Election

notarobot says...

@eric3579, I agree with you. Hillary's reputation took a big hit after the DNC Leaks broke during the convention.

@newtboy, here's how I think of the campaign. (Please pardon me for this silly fable. I just kinda got writing and my creative side just sorta took over, and I just kinda had fun with it.)

.. ..

As the primary campaign advanced it was clear that Scissors was the front runner in the Rep's side. Unless something changed drastically, he would be become the nominee.

On the Dem’s side, the race was not yet decided. Rock was behind, but not by much. He was quickly closing in on Paper’s lead. Rock was hoping that his strategy of being consistent over time would prevail and win him votes. In the beginning Paper had taken off an airplane. Laughing at how slow Rock was to gain speed. But now Paper’s once comfortable head start was being called into question. Could Rock’s momentum grow fast enough to overtake her?

Paper had gone through extensive planning (on paper) long before the election. Paper wanted to keep news of Rock from reaching the voters. The idea as was to keep Rock "covered over" to the point that many of voters just didn't know about him. They just saw the old familiar name of "Paper" on the ballot and went with that. They had little or no exposure to Rock.

Rock was on a roll, and it was clear that it was gathering no moss.

Since so many voters relied on “traditional” media for information, it wasn’t too difficult to keep pro-Paper ads on the radio, and television, and in newspapers. It was expensive, but Paper seemed to have an unlimited supply of money to fund the campaign. It was almost like Paper had bought the press...

Though Rock started to break through into the areas that Paper had been dominant, the Strategy worked. Rocks downhill momentum wasn’t able to fully catch Paper’s airplane—head-start.

Paper would win the primary and go on to face Scissors in the general.

But at the Democratic Candidate Coronation Ceremony, something terrible happened!

It turns out that someone was keeping a paper-trail on Paper’s dealings. Paper had written many correspondences, and many of those letters had reached the hands of Wikileaks, which had finally chosen to publish the secrets!

The strategies Paper had used to ensure victory over Rock—the Cover-Up Campaign—were revealed. The fundraising done by The Paper Foundation to keep money flowing around laws were becoming clear.

And each week and new secret seemed to drip onto Paper’s hat…

What happens next? We don’t know. There are so many questions! Could a boat float if made of Panama Papers? How deep will the leaks get? What other secrets will be revealed before the final election? Will Paper win over former Rock supporters now that the reality of the Cover-Up-Campaign had been uncovered? Who will win the final election? Can Paper beat Scissors?

Could Scissors have been secretly helping Paper out behind the scenes out of a fear of facing Rock? Could Paper have been helping Scissors in the early parts of his primary campaign out of a fear of facing Ben Carson?

Tune in again for out next episode of House of Cards I mean Rock-Paper-Scissors to find out!

Okay, I hope you read that with in the lighthearted voice it was intended. And I’m not hiding my bias. This story was mostly about Paper—who (at first) I thought would be a fine second choice.

(I was rooting for Rock the whole time! I liked they way he rolled!)

Trump was Scissors: Wouldn't hesitate to cut his opponents with his uh.. 'wit.'
Sanders was Rock: Consistent over time. (Not blown around by the wind)
Hillary was like Paper: Thin, like her integrity.

Ben Carson And Donald Trump Won't Go On Stage

newtboy says...

Wow...really? What a stretch to shift the blame.
"We would like to welcome to the stage the candidates for the republican nomination for president...New Jersey Governor Chris Christy, (he walks out), Dr Ben Carson..." (he walks 1/2 way out, halts for no reason, waits, another candidate is eventually called and Carson is passed, is waved out by stage hands but ignores them, is joined by another brainless candidate, is passed again, is passed again, is re-called and finally goes out, Trump is re-called out, but still can't understand what to do, then Trump is again re-called and also finally emerges).
The moderators are facing the crowd, they don't see that some candidates were too dumb to come to the stage WHEN CALLED TO THE STAGE. That's in no way the moderators' fault. At this point, they should know how to enter a stage when their name is called, this is nothing new...how many debates have we had? And these fucktards can't figure out to GO ON STAGE WHEN CALLED?!? I mean, what did they think was happening? How many times did they expect them to call their names before they were supposed to go out? How did they not grasp it when they got passed by all the others? That's pretty damning, when they're applying for a job where they need to know how to operate properly in a difficult job, but these two can't grasp how to enter a stage when called after 12 debates and 4 forums.

The fuckup from the moderators was completely forgetting Kasich. They should all be fired.

in all honesty I think they're all just complete fucktards, but in this case neither Ben Carson nor Donald Trump were in the wrong.

This was a huge fuck up, by the presenters, and the presenters alone.

Christie was barely into the stage and still being applauded, and the idiot decided to call Ben Carson, which obviously didn't hear his name.

Those idiot presenters, kept on saying names, without even glancing back to see if the candidates were coming in.

When Ben Carson was told by the crew to advance, as he was about to get to the stage, they announced another person. So obviously he stayed back.

Then Trump, not wanting to be wrongly presented refused to go as well.

I can't believe I'm saying this... but..... Carson and Trump did nothing wrong. BLBLBLBUAAARRRHGHHH..... oh sorry. I just vomited all over the keyboard.

What a clusterfuck that was. It was obvious Ben Carson didn't hear his name due to the clapping. You would think that could have been easily managed if the announcers and or ABC were competent enough to improvise a bit and go off script to manage that embarrassment.
