Justin Bieber gets nailed

residue says...

I actually thought he was substantially older than this video shows too. I've never actually seen him before.. I feel dirty for upvoting a video where a child gets hit in the face by a bottle most likely thrown by an adult

>> ^dannym3141:

I didn't realise when i read about the hatred for justin beiber that he was as young as this. Are people mentally handicapped or something? As though this CHILD has planned his evil ascent to corporate robot tool?
You're blaming the wrong people. I bet when he's 25 he's got long hair, looks a bit like the guy who plays ron weasly, he likes black sabbath and led zeppelin, probably even sophisticated enough to like a bit of pink floyd, and he jokes about how people misled him into becoming something even he hates.
I know it's cool on the internet right now to hate justin beiber, but it was probably made cool by 16 year olds, and they're fully entitled to hate him. Anyone above the age of 18 should know a little better.
Edit:
I know i sound a little UMAD, but i did just watch what came across to me as a kid doing a school play and getting humiliated in front of everyone. I've never liked stuff like that, i don't see what joy there is in it for anyone. Can you honestly say that this child deserves so much hatred for what his managers/agent has done that we can enjoy him getting humiliated?

10 Badassest Jumps in History of Ever

bamdrew says...

I remember reading about Kittinger's big jump; he lost pressure in his suit to one of his hands, which painfully swelled-up during his ascent (obviously he didn't abort... badass).

Also, another pressure suit failure blacked him out on a lower (but still insanely high) jump, and he only survived because an automatic parachute opened.

(... oh, this is covered pretty well in his wikipedia entry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Kittinger#Project_Excelsior )

Apparently on the descent where he was blacked out he started spinning, and built up to 22g's of force on his extremities! Thanks wikipedia!

The track is "An Ending (Ascent) by Brian Eno. Also heard in the film 28 Days Later. It's absolute quality.>> ^videosiftbannedme:

Music is Brian Eno. Not exactly sure which track though. It was used in a PBS Special "The Creation of the Universe". Dated, but HIGHLY recommended.

Underwater Base Jumping

Anybody else annoyed at the fact that some people think this is real? Learn about what happens to the human body while quickly rising and lowering in deep water. Look up human body density and how close it is to water. Then you simply must say eureka as you uncover the workings of flotation. Honest to god, just being afraid of swimming in water, at all, is complete nonsense. That is like a bird being afraid to hop around on the ground.

Um, have you SEEN actual free diving, people ACTUALLY do stuff like this. People DO dive to stupidly deep depths unaided by and breathing apparatus, just look at the records 124 Meters is the record for a dive with no use of adding and then removing weights... They DO do things like this.

As he said, this isn't real, you can tell by the watch and the weight on his back that is there sometimes and not in others.

But it's still showing REAL descents and ascents here.

Learn about reality before spouting off shit next time.

Let's just agree not to use the word "overcomes" when we're talking about physics and I'll be happy.

Ok, that makes sense. I don't think there was that much difference from what I said, I just wasn't making myself very clear. In the end it's just about using the right words. Gravity "overcomes" it, by eventually pulling it downwards.

In any case, thanks for the clarification.

Gravity is a force and thus a vector...acceleration due to gravity is a vector in the same direction as the force that describes it. The explosion creates an "instantaneous" force upon the anvil. At that brief instant the force of explosion minus the force of gravity results in a vector in the upward(ish) direction. But that's only for an instant. The rest of the time, the ONLY force that is in play is gravity. And gravity is doing "work" on that system the entire time. But the only time gravity isn't "overcoming" the system is during the time of the explosion.

What can be said and what I think everybody is trying to say is that there's a point where the force of gravity has slowed the anvil to a velocity of zero (instantaneous), but then that force will continue to do work speeding the anvil up in the downward direction. Same force, same direction, different results depending on the initial velocity vector of the anvil.

I guess what I'm saying, is the force of gravity isn't "overcoming" the force of the explosion, because there's no force of the explosion after t=0. There's a momentum created by the explosion which is what the force of gravity is doing work "against" during the ascent.

My physics is fuzzy, where is it wrong?

INCREDIBLE video of space shuttle ascent

INCREDIBLE video of space shuttle ascent

>> ^Doc_M:
Disclaimer: I recognize that I know jack-shit about space technology, and that I don't understand how exactly we get information direct from from outerspace installations and etc... but seriously, come on. 30 years and no improvement?

30 years? How about 3000 years of God slacking off. (Forgive me, Lord.) He incites chaos at the Tower of Babel, yet NASA continues to send these blasphemous vehicles into space. This is like a million times closer to Heaven than the tower those heathens built.

But at least It Was Written. If it wasn't written and the authors weren't authenticated within a 0 percent fail rate (because it's 100% Truth, as proven by its existence), our modern minds might not believe a story about a tower made out of pre-industrial material reaching God's palace in the sky. Aha! But our Lord God is much more wise and clever than we puny mortals: He moved Heaven.

So that's like 2 things to be thankful for, in spite of this monstrous affront to our Creator.

(I thought they were all going to die, which is why I upvoted it. Wish I could have my vote back...)
