They didn’t call police in the day long buildup to the shootout, nor immediately when it started, and they intentionally antagonized and threatened the neighbors they accused (without proof) of being gang members and shot up their house.

In 89 “lying in wait” was a death penalty offense in California…I guess not even a crime in Washington? They admitted they did exactly that.
