The Making of (Original) Predator

ANT SIMULATOR THE GAME

00Scud00 says...

The first boss fight will of course be a big kid with a magnifying glass. And maybe in a later level you'll have to safely navigate you way out of somebody's pants, bonus points if you can make them do the ants in their pants dance on your way out.
The movement however kept making me think of AvP and I wondered where all the Marines for me to snack on were hiding.

Sheeeet-Alien 3 was better than Predators (2010)~
AVP?? Well call me un-hip because I can watch me some Sanaa Lathan fighting with Ian Whyte (Scar) over and over again~

Oh, and AVP2 sucked as hard as Predator 2, these couchprints don't know what they're talking about.

Yeah, prometheus was visually stunning..but so many insane plot holes and was a complete mess otherwise

I'm surprised they rated Resurrection as high as they did...I loves me my Joss Whedon, but still...it was a pooper.

The 2nd half of Requiem was definitely shitty...but I thought the first half was decent In a weird way, I thought Requiem was better than the first AvP if only because I couldn't stand the sound effect for the plasma caster in AvP1

Peter Weyland TED Talk 2023 - Ridley Scott/Prometheus viral

Lemi says...

>> ^kymbos:

Guy Pearce is the best. Otherwise, I have no idea what most of you people are on about. Is this some kind of cult book being made into a film, that has you guys shitting all over something that looks pretty good?

Weyland-Yutani was the company Ripley worked for in the Alien movies. They were the shadow company responsible for terraforming the planet where the Aliens were discovered (by Humans, anyways) and the creation of the android Bishop. They also played some smaller role in the shitty AVP/Predator movies.

This video is a promo for the movie Prometheus, a prequel of sorts to the Alien franchise. It's going to be pants creaming.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

The alien mythos has already been thoroughly trampled by things like AVP.>> ^Ferazel:

Very, very excited. It's not going to suck - Ridley Scott doesn't make bad movies.

However, he has made a string of very mediocre movies lately. He has definitely become more mainstream as he has matured as a director. He certainly isn't as bold as he was earlier in his career with Alien and Blade Runner. Regardless, Ridley Scott even considering sci-fi again is really all I need to keep living. I still am looking forward to this movie very much regardless of how much it tramples all over the Alien "mythos".

Duke Nukem Forever Quicklook (yes it does suck that much)

Gearbox is a great developer, I hope this doesn't come back to bite them. I'm looking forward to Borderlands2.

They BETTER get that Aliens: Coloniel Marines out.. I've been waiting and waiting for that one.
(Not to be confused with the AvP series)

What I Am Legend would have looked like with non-CG monsters

I consider the best creature ever to be the Alien. No CGI. The damn thing elicits fear.

It occurred to me when I read this that there were 7 years between Resurrection and AVP, and there has now been about 7 years since AVP came out... god damn that makes me feel old. When AVP came out, I felt like Resurrection was a whole lifetime ago. But now I feel like AVP is still a relatively new movie..

Aliens vs Predator - Killmoves Trailer

EDD says...

I can't even list my expectations and hopes for this title.

After the inglorious fuckup that was Rogue Warrior pretty much the whole reputation of Rebellion as a studio rests on the success of this game;
also, there is rumor (which makes sense) that the fate of Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines which is supposedly finally due this year and is also published by SEGA will be sealed by the results of AvP; and I can't even begin to describe how much it would suck if a Gearbox project which was penned by Battlestar Galactica writers was canceled.

At least so far the promotional stuff looks promising. Here's hoping the end result won't disappoint.

The 49 Films That Will Define 2010 (Cinema Talk Post)

Predators... Seriously? Didn't we run this far enough into the ground 19 years ago with Predator 2, nevermind the AvP disasters?

I'd agree, except Predators is directed by Nimrod Antal, who did the surprisingly effective thriller Vacancy from a couple of years ago. Between that and his equally good debut feature, Kontroll, he's definitely on my radar in a big way (his next film, Armored, opens this weekend. I have high hopes, despite how long it's been sitting on the shelf).

Inception... need more info.

It's Christopher Nolan. That's all the info you need. Seriously, look at the man's filmography -- he can do no wrong. Just based on Nolan's involvement and that short teaser from a few months back, that's probably my most anticipated movie of next year.

I don't keep track of what's going on in the movies these days, so the vast majority of these are completely new to me.

Shutter Island looks like it could be an interesting story and probably very well acted. It seems it might fall prey to being a predictible rehash of overdone ideas and cheesy "Boo!" cinematography.

I'll keep an eye open for Black Death. Hopefully it's shot more like LoTR and less like 300. Hopefully it can rise above being another medieval action movie riding the coat tails of LoTR.

A Couple of Dicks... yeah, no thanks.

Phillip Morris seems like another brainless comedy. Pass.

I hate Iron Man. The end.

Robin Hood... I'll have to see more. The idea of another remake of this story doesn't thrill me. I'd have been more interested by the original concept, probably.

Predators... Seriously? Didn't we run this far enough into the ground 19 years ago with Predator 2, nevermind the AvP disasters?

Inception... need more info.

Based solely on the cast, The Expendables seems, well, expendable.

Tron Legacy... against my better judgment, I'm looking forward to this. It will almost certainly be fresh and unique even if it's not good.

Hereafter, Mute... need more info.

Paul... Doesn't look like my kinda thing.
