why are drugs still illegal?

All governments together have spent several trillion dollars on the international war on drugs in the last 20 years. What has it accomplished? Black-market violence, public health crises, massive imprisonment of people ... if this were an actual war, guess who would be on the losing side? Yep ... the people. As in taxpayers and citizens. Us.

But there are some bright spots.

I wonder what it would be like if all drugs were legal and they were regulated like food, just for purity and contents. So you would need nutritional labelling to know how much cannabis is in your brownies etc . Maybe that's where we're heading.

Funny you say that, because in the medical marijuana clubs here, they DO list the amount of cannabis, even separate levels of THC vs CBN, in the edibles. They also list the THC and CBN of the marijuana itself.
