Time's Joe Klein calls MSNBC's Ed Schultz 'stupid'

Joe Klein "This is one of the reasons why people hold us in lower regard than they do lawyers"

A soldier walked into my shop the other day. As I was helping him, our conversation drifted to his work. He told me about an incident in Afghanistan where some of his colleagues heard of a girl who had been severely burned (the kind of severe that doesn't kill you in a day, but can kill you in three if untreated). They went to the family's home where they found the girl's father unwilling to allow the Canadian medics there to treat her or take her to a hospital because he had been told by some Taliban that if he dealt with or became involved with the invading NATO forces in any way, that his family, (brothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, uncles wife and other children) would wish they had only been burned.

Apparently, the Canadians returned the next day to check on the man and his daughter. She was not yet dead, and her father allowed the medics to take her to their hospital for treatment.

Afghanistan is a complicated situation.
