The most important, and boring, video you'll ever see

Dr. Albert A. Bartlett's presentation on "Arithmetic, Population, and Energy."

Bartlett has a poor understanding of population dynamics, S-curves, carrying capacity, and a raft of other important models. His power laws are simply bad science.

That said, he's certainly right that people don't understand how population growth and economic growth multiply to create today's overwhelmingly large human footprint.

fission he may be wrong in the precision of his description but he is totally dead on in its conclusions and the general theme. We are heading for a collision with the environment. We are like cows, we are been herd to the butcher. Everything looks cool while heading that way it is just the last second that really sucks.

On further reading and research I have found Bartlett to be a fairly well-rounded thinker, but I still find this talk to be lacking in a number of critical areas, so much so that I would call them errors of omission.
