The possessed Regan doesn't know Father Damien Karras's mothers maiden name so she vomits on him.

According to Rev. Father William O'Malley (who played Father Joseph Dyer in the film), the events depicted in the film are approximately 80% true. He claims the big discrepancies between the movie and reality were: it was a boy who was possessed, not a girl; the possession did not occur in Georgetown, but just outside DC in Cottage City, MD; and the color of the "pea-soup vomit" was not green. He claims that nearly everything else in the movie actually occurred.

haha, that's great info. Nice to add to the history of the film. But without the rest of the Exorcist for context, the vomit scene feels a little gratuitous.

It was on tv last night... edited tv version. Flipping channels my kids saw the part w/ the head turning around .... they loved it! Begged me to Netflix it for them too! I didn't.

Weird, I grew up taught to believe in the devil. So of course it scared the crap out of me. My kids don't believe in a devil, so it was just disguisting, but cool.
