The question regarding how we're seeing more taser incidents is, in my opinioin, due to YouTube and cellphone cameras.

This kind of abuse has gone on for a long, long time, but the bad cops kept getting away with it because there was never any tangible evidence to document the abuse.

I really hate to say this, but abusive cops are abusive because they enjoy it.

I totally agree.. it's transparency. Would Foley have fessed up without the IM transcripts? Would OJ be in doodoo if not for the audio recording? Nope. Those kinds of records make it real.

We've all seen vids of men even bigger than that fatassed cop go flying from a Taser shot, so it's reasonable to assume this crazy broad was hopped up on something, not to mention kicking at an officer through the window.

The Taser was invented in part so people like this wouldn't get cracked in the head or choked out by nightsticks. It's humanitarian.

But I don't love it because of that. I love it because it combines two of my favorite things: high voltage and people who never learn.

I guess the only good thing you can say about tasers is that someone is less likely to get beaten to death from nightsticks, flashlights, blackjacks or whatever these morons are carrying anymore.

Unchecked, this violence will continue and probably increase. And for those who think "...they probably deserved it...", remember, you, your family or friends are only one incident away from dealing with one of these bastards having a "bad day" or whatever it takes for the for them to flip out. However, the solution is to become a sheep and get in formation with the rest.

Of course that guy that the reporter interviewed is an idiot. "Shot her at close range" No shit, it's a fucking taser, not a sniper rifle. As far as the "Misfired" claim goes: Bullshit. The darts are shot out of a detachable cartridge on the front of the gun.
I will say this, however, she must have been drugged up or something, because when I was tazed, as well es everyone around me, your muscles lock up so much that you can't move at all.
