kymbosIt's interesting to me that the media (at least what is reproduced in Australia) is calling it 'too close to call' while the blogs are all on Obama.
The media just seems to sell stories these days, not so much facts.
ChaosEngineWow.
Regardless of your politics, you have to hand it to Obama. As presidents go, the man is the best damn orator since Kennedy.
dhdigitalsays...kennedy was shot.

kennedy was shot.
OTOH, america has a habit of shooting all the best leaders.
kymbosAmericans have a habit of shooting people in general.

What a stupid, crass, crude, comment. Or did I miss that you pressed the sarcasm button?
A10anisMy faith in the American public has been restored after the Obama victory. You had me worried there for a while, go USA.
kymbosAh, no: "The United States has the highest rate of gun related injuries (not deaths per capita) among developed countries, though they also have the highest rate of gun ownership and highest rate of officers."

Statistics are limited and can be misleading in showing the big picture. Would you feel safer in Colombia, South Africa, Brazil, Somalia or Russia? (rated the most dangerous countries on earth) Check out their figures on crime and, if you still feel they offer a safer environment in which to live, feel free to visit them.

kymbosSo, avoid disappointment, aim low? Does America compare itself with those countries? I thought it was a developed nation. You do provide me with entertainment, I'll give you that.>> ^A10anis:

I'm pleased you are so easily entertained, though that was not my intent. It was, actually, to point out that making silly generalizations was pointless. Anyway, like my wife, I'm pretty sure you will need to have the last word, even though you have nothing rational to say. I'm done.
kymbosOh my god, that is so big of you. After labeling me stupid, crass, crude, silly, irrational, easily entertained, and (my favourite) 'like your wife' (what this says about your opinion of her is anyone's guess), can I say on behalf of both of us how impressive it is that you can be a Big Man and take the moral high ground.
I salute you!
