Mark Halperin insults President Obama on live tv

Turns out there wasn't a seven second delay when Mark Halperin gave his insights into Obama's recent tactics.

He was suspended by the network, and agreed: http://mashable.com/2011/06/30/mark-halperin-obama/

I have to say, this, and particularly the way the media is covering it, is just making me burst out with laughter.

I mean, they're going totally apeshit about it. Halperin apologized for it, then was suspended from MSNBC, then fired as an MSNBC contributor.

People on other channels who want to talk about it give some big preamble warning about how the following clip might contain offensive language, but they're not going to bleep it...

I mean for God's sake, it's not like he used some racial slur, or even one of the 7 Words You Can't Say on Television...

I always wondered why it is not allowed to say such words in American Television.
THE CHILDREN - Nope, they learn it in school.
IT'S OFFENSIVE - Nope, it's just words. Not even directed at you.
INAPPROPIATE - Yes, highly. Just like the rest of the content on television.

I think they fired him because he was honest. You can't do that shit.

Um... isn't President Obama on record as having called Kanye West a jackass?

I'm not saying he was wrong about that, I'm just saying it seems to open the floor a bit for candidly expressed, off-color statements involving himself.

Yeah, it's no more than a bit funny - hence the comedy channel. I felt like a bit of a dick tagging it NSFW, but what can you do?

So it should be NSFN? "Not Suitable For News..." Lol--sad political correctness.

@kymbos, that wasn't a remark against you, btw.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a jackass just a donkey or an idiot?

In today's world, being called a dick is just....tame. It's insignificant. Obama has had his citizenship questioned by nutjobs...calling him a dick is just...nothing. It's a non-event.

Is it unprofessional...sure, but we've come to expect that from the news media.

I sincerely hope that no one on the left is calling for his resignation. It would simply be a waste of effort.
