I love this lecture and reference it often in my consulting as to the psychological resonance of stories and myths. Peterson's lecture strikes a deep chord as to the impact of story, and story-telling, on the meaning-making mechanisms that we, as humans, must derive in order to live our lives.
"If you bring forth what is inside you,
what you bring forth will save you.
If you do not bring forth what is inside you,
what you do not bring forth will kill you."
From Google video: "This one hour video was broadcast on TV Ontario in 2002, as part of the University of Toronto's Continuing Education Program. It is a Jordan Peterson's lecture about a children's book, There's no Such Thing as a Dragon, by Jack Kent. The book, which is written for very young children, has a very deep mythological theme, which this lecture describes."

Trancecoachsays...Thank you, GeeSuss. I'm a big fan of Husserl and phenomenology! And really enjoy reading Merleau-Ponty...
By the way, this guy has a bunch of follow-up lectures on google video as a 13-part lecture series called "Maps of Meaning." The video embedded here is simply the Intro.

OHHHH brain food! Thanks for the heads up. It is national beer day, and what is better than beer and phenomenology? My best friend was giving me the low down on "Being in Time", but it is on my list to read...for now, looks like I have some good videos to watch in the interim
