The absolute essence of rock and roll. Watching the mighty Led Zeppelin I'm reminded of how many thousands of bands they have heavily influenced. It's equally clear that none of their imitators ever remotely approaced them in terms of sheer musical quality, style, and power. Each member of Zeppelin was not just a phenomenal musician but an iconic innovator. Think about it, Bonham: king of all rock drummers. Page: the original guitar god (Hendrix is the only one even in his league). Plant: the original golden god with a voice, in its prime, that nobody could match. Jones: arguably the best musicians in a band of musical giants, consumate bass player, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. With all this firepower, the magical chemistry of the whole was much greater than the sum of their incredible parts. R.I.P. Bonzo
