they picked it up outta the snow....should they call in the national guard to avoid 30 seconds of waiting ... inconceivable! >> ^Legion99:

shame on them. clearly the cat was distressed. taking pleasure at watching innocent animals suffer is intolerable.

Yeah, they should have dived into ~4 feet of snow, swam through it, recovered the cat, and swam back. Hopefully they wouldn't get stuck or drop into any holes (like ponds) on the way. Hopefully they wouldn't stumble and find themselves in serious trouble. Or they could have let the cat escape itself, which it did quite expediently.

A cat eating a mouse, or even just playing with a mouse, doesn't know better. It doesn't have compassion. If you're comfortable with humans being as unevolved as cats then fine, but personally, I expect humans to do better.

I appreciate that actually going to help that cat isn't going to make things a lot better and may make them a lot worse, but that doesn't mean standing around laughing at a distressed animal.

Why is everyone so worked up? It's a cat. It has fur. Furthermore, there's no evidence that these people threw the cat out into the snow. The cat was far out and in my opinion, it probably went out there out of curiosity before they started filming and then it came back when it had enough.

Christ, you'd think it was a toddler from the way you people are talking about it... Just to be clear, I'm not saying that I have no compassion for cats, I'm just saying that this cat probably just went for a walk in what it thought was a weird situation and when it had enough, it came back. Cat in the snow for all of 5 minutes. Big whoop.

Edit: case in point. Just a quick search for cats and snow quickly turns up TONS of videos of cats playing in snow. Have a look at this one: http://youtu.be/NrH8RdVBP5A

Animals enjoy the snow for brief periods of time just as much as humans do. When they get sick of it, they come back. Get over your fake outrage and go complain about something else, there's absolutely NOTHING to be pissed off at in this video.

Agreed. Kitty is built for the weather and was no doubt raised in these familiar surroundings. Who you really need to be concerned about would be the person who imagined this animal in some life-threatening distress or excruciatingly cruel discomfort upon seeing it working its way through deep snow, then bounded outside in her robe bare-footed to "rescue" this animal who is obviously suffering.
Notice the pronoun before the word "robe"?- A man would never reach such a state of delusion!

My cats carried on like that when it was raining "LETMEIN!!!LETMEIN!!!!LETMEIN!!!!" In the 30 seconds it took to go open the door they made sounds like they were being torn apart.

One of them discovered a call/growl close to a baby crying that (first few times) got everyone running out of bed to see what terrible thing was happening, and she is like "oh hai".

Gotta love the little shits.

Heck, as a parent of a toddler, I'm not above chuckling when my child gets in similar situations. Cats and children will whine when moderately uncomfortable or trying things for the first time even when there is no risk of actual harm.
