I was in Venice in November and absolutely loved it! For anyone thinking about vacationing there, I highly recommend it (though it is a tad expensive, so I stayed in a hostel). No it doesn't. It has the same smell all cities on a coast have, i.e. salty, humid.

Venice is beautiful, but it really is true: it's one large tourist trap and you really have to go and try avoiding all the tourist hot spots.
