Fox News reports on the Stewart/Colbert Rally

Fox tells us the truth of what really went down.

Those participants were bussed in by teh Left!

"put on by comedians which many people think are news people"...

Works the other way around when applied to the Fox presenters.

When I see all the little things Fox News do to discredit a subject it surprises me that there are a large number of people who still accept Fox News at face value and don't think to question what they're being told. Fox do this sort of thing daily and the only explanation I can think of is that a portion of viewers don't care, because it gives their opinions credence if they can back them up by saying "But I saw it on the news!".

Which is immediately followed by hysterical laughter when someone says that to me.

Oh Gretchen... Jon Stewart's bowel movements are more of a journalist or "newsman" than you... But then again, so are mine. Anyone's bowel movements are better journalists than you and your pathetic group of "friends".

On the other hand, that thing about the fatwa is true... Cat Stevens can go fuck himself and his moronic religious beliefs. For me that was a huge stain on the whole event. How can they talk about sanity, and invite someone who would defend Sharia Law?

You do know that Yusuf has apologized for taking part in the fatwa? I was going to snark on Fox News for bringing that up without the following events... but Empire is cutting a slice from that same cake.

THAT is why Yusuf was on that stage. Because he went to a crazy place and came back again.

EMPIREsays...

I'm sorry... how exactly does one apologize for being a supporter of atrocious medieval practices? And how exactly did he apologize?

He posted a completely idiotic rant on his page, not apologizing mind you, but excusing himself. Completely diferent.

Here's what he said:

I never called for the death of Salman Rushdie; nor backed the Fatwa issued by the Ayatollah Khomeini--and still don’t. The book itself destroyed the harmony between peoples and created an unnecessary international crisis.
When asked about my opinion regarding blasphemy, I could not tell a lie and confirmed that--like both the Torah and the Gospel--the Qur’an considers it, without repentance, as a capital offense. The Bible is full of similar harsh laws if you’re looking for them.[10] However, the application of such Biblical and Qur’anic injunctions is not to be outside of due process of law, in a place or land where such law is accepted and applied by the society as a whole... [11]

So basically he's saying: "hey, I didn't ask for his head. But if a court thinks his head should be cut off, then I'm ok with it". He's a fucking worthless piece of shit, who tries to cover his stance on this subject. Oh, and please notice the line about how the book destroyed the harmony between peoples and bla bla bla... OH... so it's the books' fault that people like you are idiots?? Oh.. what a wonderful apology.
