Fishing For Drones

A fisherman decides to try his luck fishing the sky instead of the sea. Pretty jerky move, but also a great shot.

Yeah, the guy that attempted to destroy a very expensive piece of technology just for giggles.

It's not like the drone was hovering over someone's backyard or into anyone's private/personal space.

If the operator was instead standing on the pier holding the camera in his hands would it have been okay for the asshole to come over and attack it then?

Wait. Who's the asshole here?

Drones are already getting annoying and will soon be a scourge. You think people with selfie-sticks are annoying? How about a 2 foot buzzing machine in your eyeline while you're trying to *insert any peaceful or enjoyable event*. I've already seen them at concerts and fireworks and they definitely take away from the show. Good shot Mr. Fisherman, good shot.

Just because something is annoying does not give anyone the right to destroy property. I'm glad it seemed to end as a funny interaction between strangers, rather than an act of maliciousness.

I dont think drones will be too much of an annoyance in the future. Their noise is the single most complained about aspect, so I'm sure someone will adapt the technology to dampen the sound.

Obviously that has it's own scary implications, but if that's not the direction we're headed in, drone use will probably be delegated to open airfields, just like RC enthusiasts.

So pretty much win-win for those who hate them.
