Ernie Chambers - A Time For Burning Clip

The barber, Ernie Chambers, tells a minister what he thinks about the all-white Lutheran church members reaching out to the black Lutherans in Omaha, Neb.

Upvote for Ernie Chambers! He went on to be one of the best, and most controversial state senators (and graduate law school). He became one of the most powerful people in the legislature before term limits forced him out. The conservatives hated him, he knew every obscure rule and regulation and tried to make sure that the law worked for everybody. Even when you disagreed, you had to respect him.

Justice means one thing to you, justice means something different to us. Or something to that effect.

Powerful. OJ Simpson. Trayvon Martin. Black parents having to talk to their teenagers about how to talk to a cop if they get pulled over while driving (no white parent has that conversation).

Wow.

Forced out by term limits in 2009, he had to wait two election cycles to run for re-election.

Primary results?

District 11

May 15 primary candidates:

Brenda J. Council 1,453 Approved- Incumbent Council was first elected in 2008.
Ernie Chambers 1,602 Approved

He sounds like a royal pain in the ass. Good on him.

Funny I only had one opportunity to visit an american family (white) with a teenager and got to hear that conversation, obviously it was for my benefit too, but still - white people have to think about what they say to cops too. Not to try to put down the topic of the video.

Also time machine.

You aren't serious, are you? To compare what a white family might say to their teenager to what is said to a black teenager?

Have you seen or read anything about what it means to be Black While Driving? Seen the statistics?
