Driving a real world car like a videogame car

What happens when you try and drive a car from a videogame-esque perspective? The guys at Rooster Teeth try to find out.

Kotaku:
It's awesome enough that Rooster Teeth would rig up a Ford with a third-person camera, to attempt to drive like one does in a video game. What really makes this video shine are the Yakuza extras karate-kicking the test subjects.

This is an aspect of video games that was long overdue for the Mythbusters treatment, so, kudos to the geniuses who made it happen. After mounting the camera on a Z-bar hitched to the truck's bumper, they then blacked out the windows so that the driver was forced to use the third-person perspective. God are they driving slow. And still hitting the traffic cones and inflatable pedestrians.

Why does it still boggle my mind that driving a video-game car like a real world car is just as disorienting and deadly as driving a real-world car like a video-game car? What this needs now is Grant Imahara to hook up the steering wheel to an Xbox 360 controller, so that the guy driving can drive with third-person controls and a third-person view in the first person. And I just hurt my brain.

its far easear driving all cars in first person , when the controles are 1 to 1

the only advantage of third person is you can see father ahead and see corners and cars coming up without needing to know the track.

Developers have to spend ages , tweeking the controles to actualy make the car feal resnable to handle at a thrid perseon perspective.

allso the camara in games will often have some swing on it , and not be locked to the car 100% when the camra is locked to the car perfectly the driver will over turn and over compensite as they feal like they are driving from the positoin of the camara and base there imputs off of that , rather than the positoin of the pivit piont of the car , around the front wheels , this is why it feals as if he is going side ways.

Whoa. Whoa. Okay, A) upvote for GTA music. B) No need to custom build a steel Z-bar for camera suspension when they rent scorpion tails for that exact of thing from film rental shops. And, C) the Asian driver won? That's totally cool because I'm not racist.
