Frank Skinner tells a Birmingham joke about the Queen...David Mitchell and Richard Ayoade are not impressed.

(btw, E.R. is an abbreviation of Elizabeth Regina, the latin form of the Queen's name).

Found it funny without fully understanding, but can someone please explain to people like @doogle and me why pronouncing "E R" (or "eeyah") sounds like you're directing someone to begin coitus?

I want to understand. I really, really do.

@doogle and @lucky760 : it's quite straightforward. "E.R." pronounced in a Birmingham accent sounds like "'here you are".
