I didn't see him cook anything. Why doesn't he show them how it's done? I think I'd want my table put back there during my dinner.

This MUST be for show only. I personally would last about 2 seconds before this guy's next meal would be my knuckles - I can't see how these guys just took it like that, no way.

are they getting cooking school class credits or something? Maybe the show looks good on a resume?

swampgirl- yes, it does.

It's just like with so many jobs, SG - (this is accounting related so I'm allowed to participate despite my self-imposed temporary exile) - a partner or senior manager instructs the juniors how to do the work, and corrects them when they do it wrong. They charge 10x as much for their time as we do so they have to apply their time where it's needed most, not fixing A/C's or chopping stuff.

They inspect the work and impart training where necessary. The people I work with don't swear anywhere near as much (or at all, for that matter!), but they're not chefs, they're "professionals". (I use quotes b/c I don't want to put down Ramsay; it's a different type of work environment fer sure though). I've been in kitchen environments, though, and they're intense. This is great TV.

I love the inconsistent bleeping of Ramsay's swearing though - how odd.

enzo - that's brave talk, but if you need that job to put food on your table I don't think you'd be reacting the same way - a chef is like the captain of a ship, and what he says goes. I've been in both just as uptight as well as more relaxed places - and it's really interesting to see how everything goes down - especially in terms of the amount of deferrence given to the chef!

I love this guy!

Every one of those guys in the kitchen should just stop working and stand there until Ramsay starts freaking out and breaks down crying, knowing that they are killing his restaurant at least for that night.

basicly all humans shud respect all other humans ramzy shows a lack of respect regardelss of how badly he was brought up ore how incompitent people around him may be alot of what ramzy sez is simply bulliying if it was targeted then it would be ok sutch as what you see somtimes with personal trainers ore in the militry but coments like "your a commi" ore you fat fuc, is not constuctive and bares no relivence to the situation. i personaly perform alot better in a relaxed enviroment and im pritty sure this would be the case with alot of his staff. its a shame not all sucesfull people are the most bright people
