Billie Jean Live - Giant White Glove Version!

According to White Glove Tracking, "On May 4th, 2007, we asked internet users to help isolate Michael Jackson's white glove in all 10,060 frames of his nationally televised landmark performance of Billy Jean. 72 hours later 125,000 gloves had been located"

These data have been used to create a number of interesting experiments, none quite as surprising as this bizarre creation by Tim Knapen.
Note that this video seems to have been processed entirely using a Java app called process! WTF!

I was a little ways into the video before I noticed the (very simple) technique they used to enlarge the glove. It's interesting how a technique that would look really cheesy on an individual frame works pretty well in motion (at least for most sections of the video).

Yeah, there is definitely a mistake there.

According to the text file that indicates where all the gloves are, there are 10,059 frames. However, there are great swathes of those frames where the glove does not appear. I don't understand where the 125,000 gloves figure comes from. Maybe more than one person did the same frame? Like, if 10 people all submitted data for frame 5,860 maybe they count that as having found 10 gloves? I dunno.
