This was one heck of a movie, although I admit, I've yet to meet a girl that liked it even half as much as any of my friends.

MG - I was of very similar mind before I saw it - never liked motion capture CGI, never watched Polar Express for this reason, but when my wife insisted on seeing Beowulf (she likes 'cartoons', what can I say? ), I was most pleasantly surprised.

They should really work on making it appear as though the character is actually speaking. I don't know if it's a sync thing exactly but something's wrong. They seem to be able to do it well in Shrek, the Incredibles, et al. But in photo-realistic CGI?...not so much.

conansays...

Funny. Just watched Beowulf yesterday.

IMO Angelina's scene is by far the only moment worth of watching in this movie. Effects are okay but especially the faces (women's in particular) look awkwardly artificial.

The only reason for me to watch this movie to the end was the fact that i got it on BluRay and it was my premier 1080p movie on my new tellie ;-)
