Nancy Grace Ignores Trayvon Martin Case -- TYT

therealblankman says...

Why would I care what Nancy Grace thinks? I've successfully ignored her ravings to this point in my life, so why would I change that now that she's not reporting on a case which I do care about? I'd rather she just keep her mouth shut.

Pretend Its Obama

I think everyone is too quick to put the racism tag on things.

Racist or not, it's a despicable comment.

>> ^VoodooV:
I'll give him credit, Santorum's comments about what he thought about the comment were the right thing to say.

The comment is very distasteful. What did Santorum say about it?

Santorum's reaction: "It’s absurd. No we’re not pretending it’s anybody but shooting pistols. It’s a very terrible and horrible remark and I’m glad I didn’t hear it.”

Anthony Hopkins on Hannibal Lecter

>> ^renatojj:

Wow, if he stayed in character all the time, I bet he'd be chewing on Jodie Foster's ribs before the end of the movie. That's how amazing this actor is.

Yeah, fair enough but I still prefer Brian Cox's take on "Hannibal Lecktor" in Manhunter. Hopkins likens his performance to a children's monster tale and he's right- his lecter has the characteristics of a classic movie monster. Cox on the other hand was chillingly real.

I've always wondered why Brian Cox didn's reprise the role in Silence of the Lambs, he refuses to comment on it.

edit: Okay, he has spoken about it, if anyone's interested this is a very good interview http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/1075052/brian_cox_interview_manhunter_hannibal_the_cannibal_adaptation_michael_mann_and_brett_ratner.html

So we've got David Cross, Jason Bateman and Will Arnett here? Cool, all we need now are Portia de Rossi, Jeffrey Tambor, Michael Cera, Liza Minelli, Jessica Walter, Henry Winkler and Charlize Theron and we've got ourselves a show!!!

I'm thinking we should go with the day-glow orange - then maybe people Americans will stop killing us with "Friendly Fire"

Fixed that for ya'. Frankly, I have a hard time figuring why they keep doing that, after all we're (mostly) not black, and we're not carrying Skittles.

Also, I'd make a joke about overweight, out of shape Yankees at this point, but that would just be rubbing salt on it.

Well said. It is completely ironic that an un-elected representative of a monarch might be the last line of defence in protecting a "Democracy" like Canada from fraud and tyranny.

something odd... about wanting transparency.... in a system where you still have "royal" anything?
sometimes things are just based on someone's whimsy. down with the queen!

I find it interesting that constitutional monarchies tend to be better than the "pure democracies" at being just, because a small, basically symbolic subset of their government is non-partisan.

The US is supposed to have a independent judiciary, but if you look at the Roberts court, it pretty clear that that process has broken down.

I think it's a good example of the practical application of irony. Sometimes systems which seem sub-optimal, or even self contradictory, actually work better than Ideal systems.

Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome (Prequel Trailer)

Talk abouty a shitty trailer !
Somebody thought editing meant splicing random .5 sec shots together one after the other.
Too bad.

You're right, but I still want to see the show based solely on the previous Battlestar Galactica series.

I actually watched, and sort of enjoyed Caprica- must have been the only one though. I feel that show was cancelled before it got its feet under it. Hopefully this new show will be the one that science fiction fans have been waiting for.
