Growth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
This should have a propaganda tag attached to it as well. The little sparkles and triumphant music make it seems as though the one true religion was spreading throughout the world
Realworld iPhone demo - I'm not a mac geek but daaaamn
One of the things they didn't mention that I think is important to note is the phone is running OS X. The implications of this range from easily creating 3rd party software to (I hate to say it) potential security issues.
CGI re-enactment of Hiroshima atomic bomb attack
If we had never used the bombs back then, would we be so hesitant to use them today?
LEGO Trebuchet
Comming out next year, the lego catapult, and the lego balista!
Anti Net Neutrality Commercial: Mumbo Jumbo Ad
When I first saw this on TV, I went right to the website of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association as well as re-did some research on Net Neutrality. The only thing I could keep coming back to was "How does Net Neutrality cost the consumer money?"
I never did find out.
imagining the 10th dimension
My mind! It is blown!
Why hasn't Richard Dawkins converted more Atheists?
I'd say the main reason you don't see so many 'converts' to atheism is a matter of consequences. The consequences of atheism according to theists is eternal damnation (whether it's real or imagined). The consequences of theism according to atheists is nothing; a true neutral result. It's much easier to gain converts when the alternative is hell.
The grand scheme of things
I always feel kinda dirty voting for my own posts; as though I'm trying to shore it up
Both good vids, Lucky, it makes the day to day grind a little more bearable somehow. Just as you think 'wow, that's massive,' then an even large star comes into view.
There was no sound on the video, Coreburn, but I dont' see how it really needed any.
WD 40 and a Big Stick ... sounds innocent enough!
Is it just me or is the can already on fire when he smashes it?
"snow-bo" (supercreepy winter boy-corpse animated short)
Cute in that "Will come out of the closet and eat you" kinda way.
Play fighting a cat
I can actually do that with my cat too. She understands that I won't actually hurt her, so she doesn't go all out with her claws and teeth.
A Brief History of Pop Music in Four Chords
No real problem with the concept, but because he uses the 'journey' method all the way through, it makes it difficult to notice when he changes songs if you're not familiar with them.
This is your cat on drugs. (1957 USAF experiment with LSD)
Is it horrible? Yes. Is it something that should not have happened? I don't know, I havn't seen the entire documentary. Just to say that an experiment should not have been performed simply because the results are not pretty to watch is ignoring any potential benefits.
Fast Food Nation - Backwards Hamburger
while millions do survive on a vegatarian diet, it is easier for our bodies to process certain nutrients out of meat than it is out of plants. That is, however, besides the point.
This video did not come off as 'don't eat meat,' it was a review of a specific industry, that of fast food. The solution is actually quite simple: eat better than McDonalds.
Delivery. Might just be one of the best shorts you've seen.
It is contradictory, however. The man in the house would never have that house or any of the comforts within without the factories producing it.
I suppose it shows some manner of forsight in that the man does not simply destroy the factories but minimizes it's influence. The only problem then is that any benefits he wishes to have from the factory now need to be shifted through the box. In essence, he wants to have his cake and eat it too.
