It would be nice if we could still *promote and *quality videos submitted prior to the contest though.

If someone self-promotes a video, that will give it away -- better turn off self-promotion, or else change Sifty's response to be identical to a non-self promote.

I agree with @Croccydile, you may want to avoid the latest version of Ubuntu, it uses a lot of new systems and is known to be pretty buggy. I'm currently using 10.10 for full-time production use.

You may also want to have a look at Mint -- it's based on Ubuntu but has some nice refinements.

@lucky760 my understanding of the suggestion is that *notdupe would cancel a *dupeof before *isdupe is called. I know that correcting a mistakenly duped video after *isdupe would be a nightmare, but in between the two should be easy. amirite?
