What?! The consequence was a direct result of his actions. If I lie down on the road in front of a car, I expect to get run over. That's a natural consequence of lying down on a surface designed for the carriage of motor vehicles.

Your analogy of a cop shooting someone for pickpocketing makes no sense; no-one made the conscious decision to run over him. If he picked someone's pocket, and in attempting to get away ran out onto the road and got hit by car I'd feel the same, because running out onto a road without looking is stupid and dangerous and likely to result in serious injury, just like throwing yourself on the road in front of a car.

He's going to be incredibly seriously injured because he did something incredibly stupid. Whether he "deserved" to be run over or not, it occurred because of his actions; he placed himself in harm's way for no good reason. That doesn't deserve sympathy.

I think it's fair to assume by "we" he meant Christians, not Australians. If slavery had ever been legal in Australia, and if it had ever been a factor in a conflict here, I'm sure he would have referenced that instead.

It's not just "kids throwing rocks" - there's a large group of people, including adults. The adults don't appear to be throwing rocks though, but some of them have video cameras. It appears they're just waiting for something like this to happen so they can post an edited version online or sent it to Al-Jazeera as further evidence of Israeli abuse. It's not "dumb stuff", it's generating propaganda to justify further acts of violence.

I don't think it's okay for kids to be run over ever, but I think some of those adults deserve to be hit by cars for putting those children in that situation - they should know better.

~7:07 a baby carriage rolls onto the track and is promptly demolished by the train pulling into station.

That incident was here in Australia - the baby survived with only minor injuries, fortunately. The mother had been distracted by a phone call and forgot to set the brake on the stroller. Unfortunately, the same thing happened in the same city seven months later, but again, the boy survived.
