Blood Dragon: The Cyber War
How are people not voting this up? This is one of CD's greatest works . . .
Sexy Pool Party
Oh, so there IS a sequel coming? ;-)
Unreal Engine 4 - Infiltrator Demo
Graphics are only a part of a game engine, and in all honesty, they stopped being impressive long ago. I get that we can make prettier games now (that cost more to make because it takes a lot of artists to get those results), but how does it improve the gameplay?
Meanwhile, the Planetary Annihilation devs keep releasing new videos of their engine work that look nowhere near as pretty as this, and yet it's far more technically impressive, because they're solving problems that actually have a direct impact on how RTS games are played. To me, that's far more exciting than the newest Unreal engine.
Estonians try for Eurovision with craziest show ever
And I thought nothing would ever beat the old Russian ladies making bread.
The issue with Eurovision in recent years is that a lot of entries tend to be very generic-sounding and sung in English, rather than the native language of the singers. I feel that goes against one of the main concepts behind Eurovision, of showcasing a particular aspect of your country's culture. It's groups like this, with . . . . creative songs like this that ensure that the program continues to have some variety.
Silver Mirror Experiment
It's a lab sink. They usually run through multiple filters that get rid of the dangerous stuff before being introduced into the sewage system.
(He probably should have mentioned that though.)
Yeah sure, just chuck that stuff down the drain where its someone elses problem
Bill Gates jumping over a chair like a gangster
And then Steve Ballmer threw it.
StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm Opening Cinematic
Don't worry, you'll get that in Planetary Annihilation. (At very least, planets will be blown up.)
Probably the closest RTS games I can think of to this scale are things like the Total Annihilation series (loads of units) and the spiritual successors Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander 2 (loads of units and a large difference in scale between some of them).
There's nothing comparable to the Battle Cruiser in this clip, but there are units that are hugely different in size, like the Ultralisks shown here.
"The Next Level", rather amazing desk/pc combo
Biomorph has made computer desks that raise/lower like this for ages. Of course, it doesn't have the computer built in, which is pretty cool.
Also, some people prefer nice, simple keyboards.
DARPA's robot will follow you like a dog
Well, don't forget how loud the original Big Dog was. This one is stealthy in comparison.
Awww, its so cute. I just want to pat him.
In all seriousness though, it would have limited use out in the field with all that whirring and noise giving away your exact location.
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS - Official Teaser Trailer
I'm not expecting anything good out of this one. I mean, I didn't care for Star Trek (2009) either, but at least that one had some of the elements of what Star Trek was about. This looks like a run of the mill comic-book action movie.
I remember when Star Trek was about exploration, philosophy, politics, and discovery. Now it's become something much more mundane, and that's kind of sad, not just on the part of Hollywood, but also on the part of the general public, who can't seem to appreciate the deeper things nowadays.
Also, just because it's a movie doesn't mean you need to focus on some villain on a quest for vengeance all the time. Anyone remember Star Trek VI? I actually consider that to be the best of the Star Trek movies, with its deconstruction of the collapse of communism and how it affected those who lived in that era. Sure it wasn't as tight as Star Trek II, but it had a much greater impact.
Besides, whenever they try to do an amazing, new villain to rival Khan, they always forget to make the villain compelling and interesting. Khan had this advantage because of his background in Space Seed, whereas villains like Shinzon and Nero are bland and undeveloped. (Well, at least effort was made with Shinzon, but they failed to make him a compelling, sympathetic villain. Nero wasn't supposed to upstage the origin story of the crew, but in that case, was he really needed?)
Anyway, I've been kind of ranting about this with friends lately, and I guess that's spilled over to VS now. But that's my position, and I stand by it.
Epic Mario Kart 64 Rage Fest
It's undignified to *beg
Hitman
Blond porn star was apparently played by a real porn star.
Max Payne: Bloodbath
This is what Max Payne should be. Not fat and balding. Not Mark Wahlberg. Just kickass!
(Though it's missing Sam Lake's constipated facial expression . . .)
Camera Warfare
Reminds me of this one:

Star Trek TNG Bluray Old Vs New - Unbelievable Difference
>> ^messenger:
I prefer the old one because the effects are part of the time it came from. Having advanced graphics is anachronistic and takes me out of the story.
(and I don't have a lawn)
Oh, and in case you haven't seen what they did with TOS, they handle the effects with a light touch. It isn't too distracting or anachronistic at all. It's very respectful of the source material.
