DarkhandI understand why it's not okay to threaten another country with force. But if we have an ally and they are in trouble and they request our aid we cannot help them without UN approval? I'm a bit fuzzy on the rules with the UN.
Surprisingly it's not ok to threaten another country with force, as per the UN Charter. The US is a rogue state though, and we will do whatever we want, rules are for other states.
So yes we have a preference, but that doesn't mean we get to force another country to bend to our choice of rulers. Especially since it literally tortures an entire country whenever we do it.

Here in Jersey when the light turns red for one way it stays red for the other way for about 3 seconds. That way in case someone trying to "make it before the light turns red" ends up running the light s/he doesn't smash the person who goes on green.
I guess it depends on the area?
