what would a third heavy metal look like as a live action?
some creative youtuber has some editing skills.
from y/t:
What if the next Heavy Metal movie was live action?
Based on the two animated films Heavy Metal and Heavy Metal FAKK2. Both are in turn based on the French magazine of the same title.

The song is Dawn Awaits by Cliff Lin.

For fans: see if you can guess who might be saying 'its good to be back' at the end ;)

Heavy Metal is more of a style then a cohesive universe although the graphic novels and films have followed some common elements. Beyond the no-holds-barred approach to sex and violence Heavy Metal stories also focus on the Loc-Nar; a mystical green orb claiming itself to be the 'sum of all evil'.
For a Heavy Metal film I thought a good context would be to focus on the search by a young Tannarian (a warrior race of universal guardians) for the Lok-Nar, her journey taking her to many planets and each providing their own stories. The first Heavy Metal movie was a series of separate vignettes and it would be interesting to me if the new movie was the same way; a central stories which spawns several other separate but connected stories.
Heavy Metal is all about science fiction gone insane and talented artists working without boundaries. The first one declared itself the new face of Western mature animation.
It would be important to me that any Heavy Metal movie did the same thing; lived up to the promise of being the final answer in hardcore fantasy/sci-fi.

SpaceOdditysays...Now there's a flick I'd pony up to see in the theater. Hold the 3d plz!
reiwansays...I don't remember Aeon Flux being a part of Heavy Metal...
probiesays...I'm as anti-remake as they come, but I also support the re-imagining of a story in a different medium (a la The Watchmen). Seeing something like this sets my mind a fire about what a live action remake of Heavy Metal would look like with today's CGI, etc. They'd have my money, but only if they kept the initial story intact, like they attempted to do with this homage.
siftbotsays...Tags for this video have been changed from 'heavy metal, live action, trailer, loknar, charlize theron, totally fake' to 'heavy metal, live action, trailer, loknar, charlize theron, totally fake, aeon flux' - edited by RhesusMonk
legacy0100says...I don't even know what Heavy metal is. Apparently the trailer is fake, but it's still totally awesome.

Why in the hell would you want a live action Heavy Metal? And the same story, remade? Are you a Hollywood executive? Jesus fucking christ!
The whole point of Heavy Metal is to make it look exactly like the magazine. How about an all-new Heavy Metal using state of the art hand-drawn animation? ... with tasteful CGI assist or maybe one CGI short like Animatrix. That is what the *real* fans of Heavy Metal (and not marketing victim consumoid bots) want to see.
