Many forms of Government have been tried and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time. -Churchill

That said, can America still be considered a democracy at this point?

Last time I checked you still had mostly free and fair elections. There are some idiosyncrasies in your electoral system that aren't great*, and there's a definite problem of way too much corporate lobbying, but I think, on balance, you're still a democracy.

I give you a C-. must try harder

* you should really fix that shit. It lead to dubya being elected and that clearly didn't end well.

The US seems to be the only "Western" country that has its kids mindlessly pledge allegiance. My guess: considering its history is short, shaky, and above all built upon the forgotten graves of the massacred actual "Americans", the sense of identity needs to be brainwashèdly instilled.

Sorry, I've just actually managed to sit through this and this video is mostly retarded.

You need a licence to fish? Oh noes the evil gubernmint is oppressing you. You know what? The reason that there are taxes and regulations and laws and all that petty shit that people assume is written just to inconvenience them, is because for a long fucking time, we didn't have that and guess what? It didn't fucking work.

The big guys got together and decided that they were entitled to all the fish.
In fact, the biggest guy decided he was in charge of everything. Why? fuck you, that's why. and what's more not only is he in charge for life, his kid is too.

Yeah, as I said before there are some seriously fucked up things about the US. But there's some awesome stuff too. You went to the moon. Right there, that'd be enough for me to be proud if I was american.

Thee's a quote that goes "I love America more than any other country in the world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually". If you want to criticise the US, there's tonnes of low hanging fruit, and yet this video misses it all and goes after the petty shit.
