it does sound contrived, it's a nice thing to say though... she should just have phrased it better.

it was probably just after some really grim news stories - it's routine for the media to put a little hope amongst all the fear mongering news.

agreed. sentiment is fine... and truthful, but we can grasp that for ourselves.
