dictionsays...I almost didn't upvote this just because you beat me by a few hours.
But it's so funny, I had to do it...
siftbotsays...Moving this video to Silent002's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
poolcleanersays...OMG HE SAID MEAN THINGS ABOUT PORTAL AND GOOD THINGS ABOUT SMASH BROS!
My head esplode
rasch187says...Funny stuff and original stuff are not the same and should be treated differently...this being somewhat amusing and not original at all.
Hexsays...That was surprisingly good
And I finished Contra without cheating
MarineGunrocksays...This guy is spilling epic amounts of douche. "Teh militant hater of all things single player" Seriously? OH NOES! IT HAS A STORY LINE!!!
Classic XBOX asshat.
If he hates all things single player, then how the fuck would he know what to bitch about? It's not like he plays them or anything. People like HIM are the reason games now focus more on graphics than anything else. Has he forgotten that video games were stories with graphics before they were anything else? Back in the early days of gaming, developers had to rely on the story because if graphics were the selling point, they weren't going to get very far.
Mainly I just hate him for dumping on Mass Effect. That happens to be one of the best games ever. <-- Fact, not opinion.
mizilasays...Fail.
"Some people are just naturally better at certain things than others..." pretty much sums it up.
Plus calling everything ghey and fags is really ghey.
gwiz665says...He wants to play games, but "videogames" are not just games. They are indeed stories, narratives and games. Some play, for instance, Starcraft for the story and other play it for the game itself (single vs. multiplayer). If you don't understand the difference, don't make a video exposing yourself as a sniveling jackass trying to justify and existence that is without meaning or purpose... (hmm, channeled a bit of agent smith there).
My point is that both types of players exist and there is no reason to hate on either one of them.
Zyrxilsays...No reason to hate the people who drive the games industry toward ever greater cinematic-immersion, the direct cause of gameplay regressing and becoming simpler? There's your reason right there. Sure the devs are responsible too, but they're businessmen, chasing after the biggest, lowest common denominator audience. You'll never be able to do anything about it, but you might as well call everyone on it.
14381says...Some of you are missing the point. He's not insulting games that have stories. He's insulting games that focus on story or cinematic values at the expense of gameplay (which is a growing trend). The fact is that games are getting dumber and less challenging by the second. The platforming in Assassin's Creed consisted of holding down one button. The platforming, puzzles and combat in the new Prince of Persia were all dumbed down and streamlined compared to the games in the Sands of Time trilogy. Genres with steep learning curves have been or are being phased out. Western RPGs and survival horror games are now more like action games. Shooters now have regenerating health, third-person cover systems, aim assist, trajectory indicators, invincible squadmates, etc.
The sad reality is that developers are focusing on accessibility over depth, challenge and longevity. Games are becoming increasingly automated and decreasingly interactive for the sake of "cinematic immersion." Anyone who's been playing games for a while (particularly on the PC) can see the downward spiral that gaming has taken.
Yehoshuasays...It's a character and a joke. The actual guy is playing a 'gamer' who has made a parody video of Yahtzee.
14381says...While the guy is indeed in character, I don't think the message he's conveying is a joke since it is completely accurate.

To paraphrase: Gears of War
