oohlalasassoonsays...^ Maybe you're right, I have no idea. I'm just quoting the original sailor who posted the vid to YouTube, who defends himself against similar skepticism like this:
"Wind was definely force 8 (35 knots+). We were running before it (i.e. wind behind us - a "broad reach") as is the accepted method in such situations, which is why the wind looks less dramatic than it would if it were across our bow. We were doing something like 15 knots water speed as the boat surfed down the waves. Trust me, when we were turned side-on by a wave (and my pour helming) the full force of the wind was very much in evidence."
