I like how they are developing technologies that suppress rebellious citizens more easily. Sure that won't come back to bite us in the ass, ever. Don't get me wrong, I love watching tech porn...but you always have to be weary of the monster you are creating. The machine gun was invented to end all wars because it was supposed to demoralize anyone fighting against it to such a degree as to stave off conflict all together, akin to nukes. Didn't work, still kill, and now with extra lethal prowess.
