We dream so that the world has something to crush.
jimnmssays...Usually if I'm able to sleep undisturbed, I'll wake naturally after about 8 hours and I'll remember my dream. Also, when I'm sick, I have very vivid, strange and memorable dreams. I tend to start having those weird dreams a day or two before having any symptoms.
kymbossays...Man, I've had both the thing where you wake up but can't move, and where you're conscious in a dream. Both pretty freaky events.
hpqpsays...I love dreaming, especially lucid dreaming (something I have done quite often). The only thing I still find really freaky is the "falling" phenomenon you experience when your body falls into rem atonia while you are still conscious. That and having "wake up" dreams (you know, the ones in which you enact waking up, only to find something freakishly unreal about your surroundings).
Dreaming's awesome.
