Why - Bob Flanagan

Bob Flanagan was a "supermasochist" (featured in the banned NiN video for "happiness in slavery") who used his masochism for performance art. He is the subject of "SICK..." a documentary about his art and life. He died of Cystic Fibrosis at age 43 and to this day is one of my heroes. In this "poem" he answers the question.

Why does he do those masochistic things?

'Sick'is so good...and Flanagan was indeed funny,and wry, and heroic in a way that only a man who pounded nails through his penis for his art could be.
