White Wilderness - legendary as the key source of the public myth that lemmings commit suicide in droves by jumping from cliffs. Turns out that footage was faked and the lemmings were shoved off by the crew. Poor little blighters.

According to a 1983 investigation by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation producer Brian Vallee, the lemming scenes were faked. The lemmings supposedly committing mass suicide by leaping into the ocean were actually thrown off a cliff by the Disney filmmakers. The epic "lemming migration" was staged using careful editing, tight camera angles and a few dozen lemmings running on snow covered lazy-Susan style turntable.

Man they say in the opening, "a nasty little rodent called the lemming"....hell they don't look nasty from here, they look plump and juicy, and their tundra-ready coats look puuuuuurrrfect for a pair of jammies and matching slippers!!!

I thought he said "nasty little rodent" the first time round too. I think he actually says "mousey little rodent"... though it's hard to tell, especially given the impending displays of lemming hatred
