Teachers aren't allowed to do anything anymore. That's part of the problem. She should beef up her resume and apply to teach at a private school.

The public school system (at least in the U.S.) is a despicable failure.

That's because there are no male teachers anymore. Some androgynous but few. In my school we had at least 3 male teachers that would have had these kids necks pinned against the wall so fast their heads would swim... Not that any kid would have the guts with them around.

Just where did you come to that conclusion, Enzoblue? There are many male teachers..masculine ones at that. Also there are plenty of strong female teachers, but it's just not the problem.

Teacher's hands are TIED for fear of their jobs, plain and simple.

The real problem is that teachers are not allowed to carry out strict disciplinary actions. Especially with kids that are brought up in the new age belief of not doing any harm to a child because it may somehow hold him back. Am sorry but when kids are small you need to teach them boundaries, sometimes but obviously not always that will have to extend into a tight firm smack or as my parents did it; psychological warfare. If you have a teacher smack someone in the US, most of the time its possible they could get fired or worse sued.

With regards to the video, I can't fathom why the teacher is so nonchalant about it or why she is using a mobile phone in a classroom.

What Farhad said last, something isn't right w/ the teacher here. Who would just sit there and let themselves be fondled?

This is really wrong. The kid needs such a smack. I'm also not sure what's wrong with the teacher, allowing this to happen without the slightest counteraction.

At a public high school where I used to teach, three teachers were punched this school year.

I've whatched the other linked video, but I can't understand anything they say, it's too confused. Except the guy that points the camera to himself and says "Ciao Matteo", meaning "Hallo Matteo".

I don't think she really had her hands tied, if you have a strong character I bet you can keep them calmer, somehow. I say that because I have two friends who have to work with many children like this, and they hardly have this kind of problems, AFAIK.

BTW private schools here just suck, but I bet if you need a job they're as good as anything.
