gluoniumA ferromagnetic bottle is brought near the bore of the super high strength magnet of an MRI machine and is sucked in, oscillating violently in midair. Sadly, this very type of incident did in fact kill someone a few years back. http://www.radiologytoday.net/archive/rt_103105p2.shtml
arrendekWhy would anyone do that!?!??
gluoniumprobably just as a demo on an old obsolete mri. either that or ...ya know...... for fun. but it does look like it got somewhat damaged in the process so I'm guessing they were getting rid of it anyway.
ant"Not safe for work... " LOL.
LadyBugNOW you see why they request that you leave your 'mr t starter kit' at home!![](https://videosift.com/vs5/emoticon/wink.gif)
these machines are no joke!
more concise article here on the death of a 6 y/o boy from something similar that happened in this video.
deathcowI got to play around with various non ferrous metals in an MRI field once. Aluminum gets really bizarre to handle.
gluoniumlike this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxC-AEC0ROk
I would like to see what happens when the aluminum block (or copper since that would work better) is held completely off the tabe then dropped. Does it fall slowly through the air like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prNXC1A26Ig ?
deathcowexactly... and its weirder holding it in your hand and trying to spin it within the field, it wins the battle on speed control
darksun*Removed for the miserable people in this world*
