(youtube) A Once-Famous Pro Wrestler Hits Rock Bottom, Is Sure To Obliterate Any Remnants Of Your Childhood On The Way Down

Holey moley does this look like the saddest thing ever.
For an upcoming episode of ESPN E:60, the show is profiling pro wrestler Scott Hall. Hall gained popularity wrestling in the WWF under the moniker "Razor Ramon" in the mid-90s and later jumped ship to WCW, where he also had a successful run.
In addition to being one of the better pro wrestlers of his generation, Hall has battled severe drug and alcohol issues. Stories of his backstage antics are well known, but he reached his nadir during an independent show in April.
On that night in Lowell, Massachusetts, a visibly intoxicated and definitely drugged up Hall shambled to the ring as confused fans looked on, not exactly sure if his bizarre behavior was part of the show or not.
Refusing to go backstage, and already having been paid his appearance fee by the local promoter, he proceeded to do slow motion, completely doped-up versions of his most popular moves. It was an embarrassing display, which is saying a lot when you're already performing for peanuts at an independent wrestling show.

SagemindA sad testament to drugs and all that came with them.
Hard to upvote because of the sheer misery of this mans life and ability to cope but well deserving of the attention. Still an upvote.
G-barsays...man, he was my favorite wrestler...
criticalthudsays...this guy's had a lifetime of blunt trauma and physical repercussions and everyone blames drugs and alcohol. wonder how well that spine is moving eh?
i mean really, how many times do you need your head slammed to start developing scar tissue in the cranium and throughout the nervous system. ? not very many.
drugs and alcohol are the escape valve for putting your physicality through a meat grinder.

quantumushroomWhen he got 'attacked' in the ring after talking about hospitals and seizures, that was just surreal.
brycewi19The determination by his son, Cody, to help his father out is what nearly got the tears going for me.
Bless this kid's heart.
RhesusMonkRazor Ramon was a living god for me.
Yogi"In the late 90s Scott Hall was as big maybe bigger..." than Hulk Hogan or Andre the Giant? No he fucking wasn't. He was a sidekick and he will always be a sidekick. I'd really love it if someone who actually KNOWS shit about wrestling would talk about it rather than this idiot.
Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant were cultural icons, people who didn't watch wrestling know about them, just like Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. No one knew about Scott Hall, no one cared about Scott Hall. And smarks would remember him as a completely crappy wrestler.
