Video of Russian ICBM test failure--or UFO sighting?

According to spaceweather.com,as well as several Norwegian-language news sources, sky-watchers throughout northern Norway spotted this amazing phenomenon in the heavens on the night of Dec 8-9, 2009.

By the time you posted this it was already confirmed as a failed Russian ICBM test. Pretty awesome looking though. Russia should do that more often.

This is one of the best videos of the spiral itself, but it cuts off before the "black hole" effect when the rocket's fuel ran out, which I imagine must have been quite disconcerting to witness.

"The Russians have denied it was a missile launch.." Well of course you deny it. If the point of nuclear weapons is to scare people into believing they can be used to annihilate, you can't have them malfunction, can you?
