Video Games Live

Farhad2000says...

Video Games Live is a concert tour featuring music from a variety of video games, combined with video, light, lasers, and special effects. Debuting in the summer of 2005, Video Games Live was one of the first major video game music concerts to be performed in the United States. Video Games Live is also the first video game music concert to perform in Canada, Brazil and the UK.

It was canceled back then because the ticket sales weren't as strong. They held two last performances in Vancouver and Seattle, which did very well.

They kicked off a new world tour, details of the shows that took place can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Games_Live_%28VGL%29#2006_World_Tour

Future dates can be found here http://www.videogameslive.com/index.php?s=home

Thanks for the link, farhad...I looked to see if they were coming my way again. Sadly, no.

They cancelled their first US tour, ant, citing "circumstances beyond control"...which probably meant not enough ticket sales. I think they underestimated this area and the amount of rich gamers here. Most of the gamers in this area don't have enough to plop down $75 per ticket for a show. I'm betting they were banking on the fact that there are so many gaming studios in this town...but it probably wasn't enough to fill the 2,000+ seat theatre they had booked.

I'll keep my fingers crossed, though. Or I'll have to drive to Houston. Blech.

Wish I had seen it when it came to Philly. I missed it the first time around because of the cancellation.

Can you change the tags to more accurately reflect the games shown? No Zelda or Castlevania in that clip.

I saw visits by them to Toronto advertised twice; I'm guessing one of the ads must've been for the cancelled run; I was thinking of going the first time I heard about it but I guess I wasn't feeling geeky enough at the time.

I just came back from last night's event at the brand new Nokia Theater (second event over there!) in L.A.! It was sweet! Bad seats though (far right in the front) but what to expect for 30 bucks.
